Well..I do have one complaint. The nav sucks overall. Works like gps circa 2001 with prettier graphics. Routes me in completely nonsensical ways and entering addresses is very painful. Enter state. Enter city. Enter road. Go back..change city bc given block is listed in a different city.

Why can't it be smart like Google, Yahoo..mapquest..Bing..and just accept an address. And, it's out of date the moment you get it..and new maps cost an arm and a leg..which are out of date when you buy them as well. very irritating. I hardly use it. For what they charge as a factory option you are better off getting a $59 knock off Android tablet, tethering it, and just using Google navigation.

C'mon Chrysler..it's 2013.. why isn't navigation back ended in the cloud? They are %90 there already with the aircard and yelp stuff..

Anyway..end of rant. Like I said, this sw build is solid!

i have had ZERO issues with the nav compared to the 2011 430 rhb i had...

hit the VR button and speak it like this

if the address is
123 main street , cityname, state

say:

"Navigate to ONE TWO THREE main stree, cityname, state"

only had one not work. routing is perfect too... make sure its has fastest set and not most direct. and increase the delay amount for traffic etc.

Re: UConnect 13.38.52

Good advice StaticFX, especially the "fastest" routing. Here's a little thing I do to expedite my routing. Before a trip I clear the "recent" list, and then load it with the destinations I plan on hitting. That way, instead of scrolling through my considerable list of favorites, I can punch in destinations from the recent list, which usually only takes up one page. I know it's manual labor, but it works well for me.

It's better than the 430 rhb don't get me wrong but I still think design is crappy. I don't like using voice commands so entering a destination is a pita especially when actual city and making city are different. Played around with route settings and it still makes stupid routing decisions. Like the other day I was going to Ikea in college park and it had me get off 495 and get on bw parkway, then get back on 495 again..was on fastest route no traffic..coming back, it kept me on 495 whole time. Plus like I said, poi/map data is out of date as soon as you get it. Still find myself using Google maps all the time.

At the time you were going, there could have been a traffic problem in that direction.

I didn't like the vr input in my Acura. But I tried it in the Jeep and hardly ever touch the screen anymore. As others have said, speaking conversationally as opposed to speaking like you are inputting data, is the key.

did you know you can do multiple stops? i found out accidentally.. Was en route to an address, and did the VR again.. it added it to the route! pretty cool

and on not sure why you would want to type when speaking is 10x faster...?

When you have a passenger/navigator in the seat and you want the nav unit to go somewhere you can't use a VR for, it is necessary.

VR in Acuras are a joke - "Navigate to 123 Main st".... "Setting temperature to 123 degrees"

This is how my GC is. No matter what I attempt to tell it, it responds with "setting satellite to station 123". So for some of us typing is faster.

I know some people love vr... I've just personally never had good luck with vr in any car, I'm happy to enter info via the screen
