I just got Tapatalk and that was the first time I noticed it. Luckily, they give an option to turn it off...

One major dislike to the 8.4A system (Canada) is I do not have an Apps button nor any type of UConnect access and no skins to choose from. I have the most recent update installed.

Re: UConnect 13.38.52

That's more of a problem with where you live, not the radio. Please don't get me wrong, I think Canada is a wonderful place, we vacation there often, and the people and towns we visit are first class. It's just that Apps and Access are dependent on cell coverage. I agree about the skins, I' like some choices too.

No worries with cell coverage unless you go way up north and even then it's only not available were our jeeps wouldn't make it anyway lol. I have 4G/LTE throughout most of the province.

You are correct. Got the vehicle back and it still has 13.38.52 on it. However, the transmission flash and the HVAC flash resolved the rough shifting and the loss of auto setup of the climate system on remote start. Can't see any difference in anything else at the moment.

The rock rails look good though.

Re: UConnect 13.38.52

Are there any fixes in the next version of the software to allow the red button on the steering wheel to end a phone call sooner. Both of our WK2's, when using that button, require literally a minute or more for the call to be ended after pressing the button, even if it is pressed a few times. Using the corresponding button on the display will usually end calls more quickly.

I first noticed this when I accidentally hit the green button, and then had a bear of a time disconnecting.

Re: UConnect 13.38.52

The end call button works fine on my wheel - no delay at all. I did have a problem with 13.19 with it taking ten minutes or more for the VR button to work though and no one else did. The variance among the vehicles is fascinating.

Re: UConnect 13.38.52

Updated from Uconnect 13.33.7 (that's what came from the factory on my 2014 GC Limited) to the 13.38.52 version today during lunch break. Remarkably straightforward download from the Uconnect website, unzipped to USB drive, plugged it in, system recognized it and it took about 10 mins for everything to upload and update. It preserved the memories I had for the radio, and reconnected with my Android phone, (Droid Razr MaxHD) with no issues. Recognized my IPOD on the USB input, and my SD drive full of music also.

Based on the earlier responses in this thread, I'm waiting for something to go wrong, but so far a pretty clean installation. I haven't tried seeing the dealer about the recall issues yet, but the Uconnect update went ok. I do appreciate all the tips on how to perform it offered earlier in this thread. (Maybe that's why I didn't have trouble )

Re: UConnect 13.38.52

I picked up a 2014 JGC Overland V6 on October 7th and after reading the very informative posts in this forum I took my Jeep to dealer for five TSB fixes including the update on the UConnect software as my unit displayed Software version 13.19.0. After two days due to the service advisor not realizing how long the Creaking Roof TSB 2301313 took I get my car back today with dealer saying that the the transmission tab was already updated, no update to UConnect as their "tool" told them that I already had the latest UConnect and no creaking roof fix, just some "realignment"?!?

So I think I will have to do the UConnect update myself from 13.19.0 to the current 13.38.52.

Re: UConnect 13.38.52

Sounds like your dealer service leaves a little to be desired. If I were you I'd try another dealer, or escalate up the chain.

Only additional comment to what's been mentioned is that the Trail Crumbs setting is there. Don't recall it being there before.
Aha, so I'm not the only one that had the A/C light turn on in the middle of the update. I had considered hitting the off button, but thought better of it as it may have been some sort of sekrit siggnull to installers.

The upgrade was seamless [my day job requires me to do a lot of software updates, and I've learned to have a very healthy aversion to them if I want sleep] almost scarily so.

The update does create an update log on your USB key for the curious.
