What's your build date? Mine is a Feb. and had the radio replaced earlier because they said there was an issue with air card on earlier radios.

I believe the build date is July. I dropped it off at the dealership.

Re: UConnect 13.38.52

I ran into IE Glitches and FireFox worked. Was trial and error until realized they want the ISO file on the USB (not the ZIP, not the EXE, and not the ISO unpacked).

Overall 13.38 is running great. Much snappier. I love the way it said "You pushed the wrong button to make a call, do you want me to push the call button for you".

I lost my Radio Station Presets, but it remembered what station I was on. Go figure. No biggy.

Whenever upgrading firmware I like to factory reset if it's not too much trouble. So I did. Had to do full power down a couple times until everything showed up.

But I'm having a new annoying issue.

The In Call Volume is erratic. One minute it's blasting loud and the next it's too soft. I keep having to adjust the volume during the call. I keep having to Jump between Volume 20 and Volume 30. This was never a problem on prior version. I'm using a Sprint HTC One with Android 4.3 which was also recently upgraded.

Yes I have Speed Sensitive Volume Off.

Also is there a way to get the Fan Speed on the Climate Icon back. I really liked that.

I also never realized you could display the next Navigation turn on the EVIC. I love how that works. And that you could change Nav Direction Icon to Jeep or a red Challenger. Nice touches.

I also wish you could shut off some of the "Help" Voice Prompts. Like "To Hang up hit the Hang up button" on EVERY call. How about saying that just the first 10 times after a new phone is Paired?

Overall excellent work.

After hanging for some time at 1% and 40% it came up with a message "Sierra Wireless: application file install failed. Please remove USB stick to reset". I removed the USB drive and it reset to start the upgrade over again. This time at Unit 10 it shut off all environmentals at 40% and set the ignition from Run to Off but kept progressing forward until it completed the full upgrade. After completing the upgrade everything turned off and could hear this high-pitched noise looping in the head unit like a drive was being read over and over. After five minutes of no display change I pushed the ignition to run and then back to off. I started the vehicle and it read the USB drive again to show it was up to the 13.38.52 firmware. I unplugged the USB drive, shut the car off and opened and close the driver's door. UConnect seems to be working. I let the electronics turn off completely and still hear a high-pitched repeating noise coming from the head unit like before. I am going to let the car sit for an hour and return to see if it is still doing it. I don't want this to run down the battery. I can't wait for this venture to turn into a service call at the dealership.

Update: Waited an hour. After getting in the vehicle and all of the electronics turn off the hard drive whine comes back and loops over and over again. Called UConnect and they suggest I take it into the dealership. They said they have had a few problems with firmware from the web site.
Back from dealership. They said all is good now with UConnect. They applied RRT 13-071 "update". I drove away and ran through the settings to take a look at the new update version. They reflashed my UConnect back to v13.19. Awesome. Looked up RRT 13-071 and it notes the upgrade pertains to 13.38.52 on the 8.4AN (RA4).

While the vehicle was in for this snafu I explained the transmission weirdness I still encounter even since the August update hoping they would apply the follow-on September update. They applied the September RRT 13-066 update. God knows if they just backed out the August flash I had them do when I first got the vehicle.

I wonder if I am the only person who was hoping for a new skin option for XMS? The dry lakebed, scorched earth, Mad Max look is getting old to me.

Turn the screen off and watch the road ... you will have a constantly changing background ... unless you're stuck in traffic.

Or I could wait out the new 2014 Lockpick thingy, install a front view camera, stare at the screen while driving and give new meaning to Drive-by-Wire.

I don't get it. Is RRT 13-071 a procedure to back out 13.38.52? Why are you glad? I'd be concerned if you unit can't be upgraded and the only solution is to back it out.

I would have tried a factory reset after the upgrade.

Also if you have a lot of music on SD or USB it will start building a new database which can take a while.

Sorry, just trying to be facetious about my dealership trip. RRT 13-071 addresses the upgrade of UConnect to 13.38.52. My dealership service decided to downgrade it back to 13.19 and make it look like they applied an update. Who knows... Maybe they've had bad luck with the latest firmware. I'll call them tomorrow.

There's different backgrounds. I really haven't gone through everything since I just got it.

Um nope, they are illiterate and don't read Chrysler instructions to remove prior Bulletins from the file.

Go to WK2Jeeps.com and download the proper bulletin and take it with you to the dealer. Man I can't believe we are going to do this all over again. Why can't dealers just read the documentation they are provided!!!!!
