Yes. There is a thread all about it, although that is in the VIP section.
All works fine.

I suggest u not to upgrade. I have the problem of volume increasing when pressing mute button, which happens sporadically after the upgrade.

Re: UConnect 8.4 International / Export

So based on your one negative and the multiple reports of positive experience, you're recommending not to update when it is also easy to roll back if you do experience a problem.
Interesting.

Yes it is for Australia. as I mentioned earlier it didn't change anything after the update, but its good to have the latest firmware. And as Snuke mentioned its easy to roll back if you have any problems...

cheers....

Maybe a hard reboot from the Engineering Menu then mate? I don't see any of that stuff... do you know if it came with the new map update, or latest Uconnect version? I might avoid whatever caused it if it's a new "feature" for us to enjoy

I've got to ask... you'e not just hitting the overspeed warning and just thinking it's the POIs you've mentioned? I'm sure you'd have clicked if it were that, but it pays to cover all possibilities.

Cheers,
Steve
The Double beep is from a a SAFETY FEATURE for school zones but would appear to have manifested it self to also include advising you of when ever you change a speed zone... I found this happened on both 14.22 & 14.25 updates... the icon I refer to is the traffic camera alert in the pics below the outside temp . I have reverted back to 14.05. & am waiting for the Dealer/tech to get me a new update. I have tried the Downloads from a few sights & both have glitches.

Slightly off topic, I don't mind the satnav issue so much but the constant speed zone changes are a real traffic hazard. One has to divert one's mind from actually driving to scan for speed zone changes then fiddle with cruise control. Then there are the school zones, what a farce. What kills kids is not cars mounting footpaths but kids running onto roads. The logic thing is to separate the two. Put up child proof fences along school zones, let the cars do their thing and remove another stupid speed restriction.

Re: UConnect 8.4 International / Export

The problem I have with the safety warning is it is at the top of the screen not on the actual road location so you have to guess what and where it is also if you are using the Nav the speed information is covered by the street name.

My other issue is the message you are in a unverified area even though the roads have been there for 50 years. I receive this with all updates

Ironically, this distraction is to do with there being no "safety data" for the area. I love this kind of logic.

Re: UConnect 8.4 International / Export

Kia sorento 2015 has real time speed limit displayed on screen by using camera which constantly scans speed limit sign. This should be the way to go for all cars as map speed limit is often far cry from reality on roads.
