UConnect 8.4 Losing Settings.

I have a 2015 year Grand Cherokee (Australian). Lately Uconnect has been forgetting some of its settings including programmed radio stations and in the Navigator my Home address.

Is this a common problem and is there a fix for it?

Thanks.

We also have a 2015 with 8.4AN that reset our radio presets to the channels the dealer had set. I would think if the radio went through some kind of "reboot" the presets would be blank, not previous settings.

Re: UConnect 8.4 Losing Settings.

It happened again yesterday. All presets blank. Noticed it as I drove off, thought, "bugger it, will fix it later." When I got back in the car to drive home, the settings were all back...

Re: UConnect 8.4 Losing Settings.

Have you checked for a software update? I don't know about AUS, but you can input your VIN into the Uconnect website and it will tell you if there is an update.

No, I haven't Josh.

The update link was posted either here or on another forum a while back, but I've not bothered with it, not when its listed fixes, updates and improvements weren't relevant to me (at the time).

Even now, looking through that list there doesn't appear to be anything which addresses the loss of settings.

But I will have a go at it. Who knows, maybe it'll fix it, maybe it won't. In which case the dealer can deal with it when it goes in for its first service.

Re: UConnect 8.4 Losing Settings.

And it happened again yesterday and today, twice or three times.

The station pre-sets are blank. However, if I tap on say FM, the station which was previously playing stays playing (it's an AM station). The only thing is that if I tap on DAB it changes to it and displays its presets (although nothing plays as there's no digital radio out where I live).

I'll get back into the car later on and it's all good again.

Also experiencing a lag from when the radio display comes up (after starting the car) and the audio coming through.

The car's due for its first service soon, so it'll be one item that will be highlighted on the to-do list for them.

Re: UConnect 8.4 Losing Settings.

I forgot to mention this problem when the car went in for its first service has it hasn't happened for a while. And they didn't update Uconnect, either. Again, me not asking.

Today and yesterday on separate occasions when i got in the car, the radio stations presets were cleared, the climate control was turned to "off" and nothing was playing on the radio.

The second time that it happened it stayed blank (and no sound) but about 3 minutes later, driving down the road, it all booted up.

I've looked at the procedure for updating Uconnect. I'll leave it for the dealer to fix.
