Re: UConnect 8.4 - North America

Here's one for the wish list, NAV routing from Phone Book.

My 2011 would allow me to route from my phone book. The only downside on that system is that it would not 'see' my business addresses.

It would be handy to simply sync my phone, pull up the contact and hit route but my 2014 appears to completely lack this functionality.

Re: UConnect 8.4 - North America

I hear you. But unfortunately that would be the least of my issues. I'm heading back to the dealership again this morning to change the radio for the second time. This is visit number 5 in 5 weeks. And to add insult to injury last night I'd had a 1/4 tank of gas and went to fill it up and the truck refused to except any gas. 2 different gas stations. A little disturbing to say the least.

In what manner did it "refuse" gas?

Re: UConnect 8.4 - North America

It would not accept any gas from the gas nozzle kept clicking like when your car is full and stops itself. Tried 2 different gas stations. Read the same thing on a another thread some where.

Horrible! Sorry to hear. Anybody else ever experience this? Did you ultimately find a way to refuel? If so, what did the trick?

Re: UConnect 8.4 - North America

Just got back from the dealer for the 5th time in 5 weeks and they replaced the radio again and told me the check relief valve on the gas tank needed to be changed. Truck has 809 miles on it btw. My 3rd jeep and may very well be my last.

Re: UConnect 8.4 - North America

I tried 'registering' my Uconnect device today and it didn't do shit.

How long does it normally take?

According to Uconnect® | Coverage Map I'm in a data roaming zone. On the screen it was connected at 1x.

I drove to town, reset the radio and tried it again. I waited 15 minutes and called it quits. I had blue 3G light lit up during this process.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Before posting, I did discover the thread discussing whether the head unit could be turned "off" verses merely muted. However I was unable to find any dealing with my specific issue that the head unit fails to retain the mute/unmute state when the vehicle restarts. (If I've missed it, I apologize.)

This seems like a software issue that can be corrected in a future update, which was my understanding of the purpose of this thread.

Thanks again.

I hate the way this works. I pull my car out of the garage in the AM and then finish getting ready, loading up, making coffee, etc.

The whole time it is constantly stealing my Bluetooth signal from my phone and the headset I might be listening to as I come in and out of range. Not only stealing any audio I might be playing but starting a podcast even if I'm not. Best case I lose my place and miss some, worst case it's "adult" subject matter and my son is in or climbs into the car while it's playing without me realizing it.

This also happens on remote start at my office, huh? And while I'm moving the Jeep around and hooking up a trailer. It's really nice under other circumstances, if it just had a simple on/off switch it would be much less annoying as I could turn it off when I wanted to avoid this effect! It could also ask me first before it stole my audio and/or started a podcast. Or even better yet sense when I was in the seat and not do it at all if I was outside the vehicle.

I always think wtf, who makes a radio you can't turn off!!

Won't the mute button have the same effect, as far as keeping your son from hearing things he shouldn't?

Re: UConnect 8.4 - North America

Not the best solution, but you can turn the volume to zero before you shut it down.
