Re: UConnect 8.4 - North America

The service manager told me they honestly don't know where the issue is. At first he kept telling they'll fix it. He's been doing this 20 years they always find a fix. Now he just apologizes. The HVAC just does whatever it wants that's why I first brought in. My attorney tells the process takes months no matter what. Chrysler offered to make 2 payments of the truck but my attorney tells me not to except the $$ and I agree.

That was what its been there for all along the HVAC is still and always has been totally erratic. The service and Chrysler said I need to live with it until Chrysler finds a solution.

Re: UConnect 8.4 - North America

Just heard from the service manager Chrysler told him to change the radio again, which will be #5 and I need to leave it for 2 days!! 8th time at the dealer. This is just beyond my comprehension. Truck has 1600 miles on it truly unbelievable!!

Re: UConnect 8.4 - North America

why are they keeping it for 2 days!!!???? when the radio get there, they swap it. Took my dealer about 2 hrs total to swap and that was including the 1/2 hr plus before they even got the truck into the bay. They are doing something wrong or dont know.

Radio swap should be really quick. I've seen guys do it in under 45 minutes, while taking their time to be careful with trim pieces. It's not complicated so two days seems a little odd.

Some shops will routinely keep a car for a couple of days when parts are coming in, unless the customer asks for it back. I had my nav system replaced on my Acura. I brought it in on a Friday and once Acura agreed to replace the whole unit they expected it on Monday or Tuesday. When they called to tell me they said they would prefer to keep the vehicle so that they could have the old unit out and get the new one in as soon as it was delivered. I was in a nice loaner, so I agreed. They had the vehicle ready by noon on Monday.

No harm, no foul.

That's true, and I certainly wouldn't call foul. However, radios are typically taking 5-7 days to come in, and most normal procedures now are to order the parts and bring the vehicle back when they're in. And I may be mistaken but I believe that's what the OP's dealership did. I'm too lazy to scroll back and look though.

Re: UConnect 8.4 - North America

yeah mine took a week to come in.. and that was "rushed" according to the dealer lol. If they arent giving you a loaner... i would go get it back till the radio comes in

Ditto here. No solution on the problem yet thru my local Jeep Dealer.

Re: UConnect 8.4 - North America

At the dealer this past Saturday replaced the radio for the 5th time. Still no recall or software update for climate control. They have no idea when!!
