Re: UConnect 8.4 - North America

Hi, I'm looking for a copy of the Software Update Instructions. I have a copy for the version before 14.25.05. I would assume it's the same instructions though?

Re: UConnect 8.4 - North America

Anyone else experiencing an issue with 14.25.05 dropping bluetooth connection now with their phones? In my case, iPhone 5S, 7.1.2 firmware.

I didn't have the problem, did the update, now constantly dropping bluetooth sync when I'm on a call, which is lots of fun.

After you put your vin in, you will get a choice to download instructions or software. The instructions are in PDF format.

The sirrius traffic actually worked really well leaving DC and saved me a bunch of time.

MIGHT be a different hardware rev...

The official firmware version is 14.39 and will not work on MY 13 or MY14, so they really changed some major stuff. I think that it could be upgraded hardware like processor, XMSIrius decoder and etc. I have ordered one unit and I hope Im able to get it in asap.

UConnect 8.4 - North America

If, IF, this is a different hardware version.... I am seriously going to shit a goddamn brick.

As someone marooned with an RHB head unit in my '11 WK2 and '13 Town & Country, with no firmware updates being offered any longer, that will be complete and utter BULL if they opt to leave all of us 2014 owners victim to their horrific engineering.

I'll be keeping a close eye on this.

It's looking like there is a change in hardware, a silent update.

Yeah... Real nice.

The next question, are they backward-compatible with the bastard 2014? Direct swap?

Funny, right as I asked that, I realized my legacy RB4 head unit running 14.25.05 is still showing my backup camera five minutes after I put it in drive.

Can't wait for iOS 8 on my iPhone so I can find out like I did with the RHB in my other Chrysler products, what little additional development will be done for my antique headunit subsequently rendering 50% functionality useless.

I'm not sure if it has anything to do with what you are talking about, and I never selected it, but there is a setting in uConnect on the 14s that says something about a delay on the backup camera.

Attention Willx:
Can you confirm there was a hardware update to the headunit for 2015 Model Year? If so, what was changed and what models to they affect?

8.4AN/RA4?
8.4A/RA3?
5.0/RA2?

Yeah, I'm aware of that, but it's only like a five-second delay option- this stays on sometimes until I shut the engine off. 14.25.05 got rid of the jitteriness of the camera, however, now the video has a gaussian blur and slow-shutter symptoms in daylight.

8.4AN/RA4?

8.4A/RA3?

5.0/RA2?

Spoke to UConnect Care, told me there IS a hardware change, but "don't worry, we'll keep the software updated for the RA units." I couldn't help but chuckle when the representative proceeded to tell me "There ARE updates out, but only for the RAX (4.5)... Hold tight, one will be available for the RAs eventually."

Kaaaaaaay.

By the way, my vehicle phone requires service. HOWWWW?! I'm running 14.25.05 on an RA4!

Re: UConnect 8.4 - North America

FINALLY got the 8.4AN_RA4 (14.25.05) update downloaded...took digging out an old Windows XP laptop to make it work.

Once downloaded and unzipped to the USB storage device, it took about 15-20 mins to complete the update to the vehicle.

Included in the download is a nice .pdf file of instructions...much easier to follow than the screen shots on the Uconnect site (attached).
