**Other digits (numbers) in the part have changed other than the last two digits (letters) showing revisions however, these 2 parts do not relate to each other in compatibility. For example you can tell a related radio in a 2015 Cherokee is 68238626AF whereas the units above are both from Grand Cherokees

Is that for the 8.4A (RA3) or 8.4AN (RA4)?

Assuming that's RA4, Does anyone have the MY14/15 RA3 part number differences?

Sorry, you are correct it was an RA4 I gave the example of

Here is the RA3 comparison... BTW, don't use any of these to order anything. The revisions change all the time and it needs to be cross referenced to a valid VIN is the right way to do this.

My money is on the changes were internal plumbing to address some baseline issues from MY14 launch and then some behind the scenes changes for upcoming features in the MY16 refresh. In other words just more stability for now with new features to come soon, IMHO.

About as likely, some of the innards went end of life by the vendor, so they had no choice but to go with whatever was available. Produce lifetime of peripherals these days seems to be measured in milliseconds.

"Here is our shiny new veeblefetzer. And here is our end of availability announcement for that classice veeblefetzer now that we've got almost all of the bugs ironed out in it. And here is our announcement for our shiny new veeblefetzer II...."
... where they could save time and put all three in the same press release.
