After I got my new 2014 Overland, I called the phone number in the back of the Users Guide to get paper manuals. They are free to the first buyer of a car. I just received a Uconnect 8.4A/8.4AN Owner's Manual Supplement - First Edition. It has a section for the 8.4A and a larger section for the 8.4AN. It has 260 pages. I just looked it over briefly and it is the best description of the Nav functions that I have see.

I also got a 630 page Owner's Manual - Second Edition and a 40 page book covering Warranty information - Second Edition.

I highly recommend that new owners order all three.

No. 1 on my list of things to do as soon as I take delivery!

I just noticed that Jeep has posted a new manual on their Owners site.

It is the 2014-Uconnect-84A-84AN-Multimedia-2nd. The first edition, that Jeep just mailed me, had 260 pages including a section of the 5.0 radio. The new one has 261 pages without the 5.0 radio - so there must me more info.

Google 2014-Uconnect-84A-84AN-Multimedia-2nd, download the pdf, and do some pre-delivery research/review. I'm about four weeks away from delivery, but I've gone over this manual, and the Jeep GC Limited manual, a number of times in order to have a familiarity w/ the bells and whistles.

FWIW, I GC Overland had traffic when using the Nav system. What ever enabled it, was enabled by the dealer.

The first few messages, I had no idea what the nav system was trying to tell me. (I thought it would only issue directions.)

I don't normally use the Nav when going back and forth to work. I know how to get there <g>. But I might try it for a few weeks to see if I like the traffic updates.
