My understanding is that even when the apps are released, you'll still be using your mobile device to drive pandora, and the head unit would just be mirroring the phone's pandora app.

That's no better than Pandora with BT to the head unit to me. Why would an app maker even worry with that?

im guessing the point is Uconnect will provide a safer to use experience while driving. maybe more and improved voice integration that would extend out to compatible apps 'via mobile'. we're all only speculating it seems, given the lack of available info...

Ditto. I'm guessing that they are pursuing the scenario where once you are in the vehicle you would never need to take your phone our of your pocket because everything can be done from the dash. Controlling Pandora via voice has it's use, but I'd just like to be able to "like" a song using a dashboard button. For now, I use a iOttie easy view dash mount for the phone to achieve that.

I've read that there are head unit that do a full mirror of the phone interfaces "car mode". I'm starting to wonder if that would be more useful than specific Uconnect apps. As it is taking forever to get these apps written. Perhaps better to just get ONE mirroring app to work and then let the rest of the work be done by the phone app developers to get the car mode interfaces right.

Re: uConnect Apps?

Where did yelp go? I used VR and said launch yelp and nothing? I touched the screen and yelp is no longer listed under the uconnect. the system has been up to 19.38.? and the dealer did a flash under the recall. Since I have been sick and away for a while I must have missed something. Pandora BT works fine but I don't see any apps except the travel link apps under the uconnect button on the 8.4 radio screen. Is there info posted on this problem?

Maybe the 2015 models will get the apps. 9 months since the release and still nothing.

Just got an update on my uconnect app that brought back via mobile. Could this be a sign that these apps are nearing release?

App Just got updated on the iPhone. The download sends you to driveuconnect.com "to see how to get started", but here you find the same old message "coming soon". It's a development though. I'm going to try playing Pandora with the Uconnect App also open on the phone. I'll report if I see any added functionality to the head.

Tried it hard wired and over Bluetooth with Uconnect App and Pandora active on iPhone. Got nothing new on the head unit. Tried the Uconnect App Store though the vehicle, and there's still no available head unit Apps for Pandora, Slacker "via Mobile" yet.

Re: uConnect Apps?

Update was super smooth. Via mobile apps finally available!!

My android app updated as well. I was able to get pandora via mobile to work, still working on iHeart Radio as the screen keeps saying trying to connect but never plays anything.

You will need to setup you via apps via a computer first before they will work...
Set Up Via Mobile Profile (if equipped) - NEW!

It did take a while for the apps to show up on the radio...be patient

Re: uConnect Apps?

Pandora via Mobile does not make you mess with your phone at all. Simply open the app on the radio, it signs in and has your station available. Album art comes up at all. I would suggest going into the options and turning on high quality audio.

Wish the interface was a little more refined but it gets the job done.
