Re: Uconnect Background change?

Please, can they update the computer so we can change this ugly woodgrain?

It always bothers me when I notice the album artwork and then that as a backdrop.

Re: Uconnect Background change?

not going to happen. It requires a rebuild of the software using a type of digital signature.

lame.

Re: Uconnect Background change?

People are complaining about wood grain background? My Overland has a cracked mud scorched earth scene. Was probably intended for the "Mad Max" edition that never came to production.

My screen starts up with that background, but then changes to the wood grain...

They're all pretty bad in my opinion. I'd expect more neutral designs for something that I'm constantly going to be looking at. And especially for a background. I don't need to be reminded of the outdoor/rugged style Jeep acts like they are still committed to.

Is it actually digitally signed?

The updates are a simple ISO and the contents are unencrypted. It would be amusing to swap the .SWF file that has the "Check All Surroundings" with one that said "20 Bonus Points For Bikers". The manifest file didn't have any evidence of a signature, which is where I would have expected it. Then again, they might be signing all components individually but that's not very flexible/secure compared to signing the entire update as a whole.

My personal favorite was the sacrilegious line in /etc/version.txt:
Code:
adjustImageState:0.0.1:Toyota.extension_box.omap.adjustImageState.trunk
Ha. There's a lot of cargo cult stuff in these updates. Do we really need skin data for Alfa Romeos and Maseratis?
