The updates are a simple ISO and the contents are unencrypted. It would be amusing to swap the .SWF file that has the "Check All Surroundings" with one that said "20 Bonus Points For Bikers". The manifest file didn't have any evidence of a signature, which is where I would have expected it. Then again, they might be signing all components individually but that's not very flexible/secure compared to signing the entire update as a whole.
My personal favorite was the sacrilegious line in /etc/version.txt:
