Uconnect / Messaging Issue

I just got a 2015 Grand Cherokee Summit, it has uconnect. I am having an issue when text messages come in to my phone, the uconnect shows old messages from a different contact first. But it marks them as new as well. Why is this happening? Also is there a way to shut off messaging notifications if i cant fix this?

Go to bluetooth settings on the phone and you will see an (i) next to the Uconnect device.
Select that (i) and select turn on/off notifications.

Not sure what phone you have, but on my iphone 5 it's:

Bluetooth/Uconnect/Show notifications

Re: Uconnect / Messaging Issue

Normally, it would say something like.... "Incoming text message. You have 1 new text message and....old messages. New text message from phone number.... "And it automatically reads that message. Then it asks if you want to read the old messages. Maybe it is a setting on your phone that makes old messages look like unread messages.

Re: Uconnect / Messaging Issue

update your system to the new version of uconnect. i believe its 14.25
then delete your phone from the uconnect system.
unpair and delete the uconnect system from your phone.
turn off car and open door so radio turns off.
turn off bluetooth on your phone
reboot your phone (power off for 30 sec then power back on)

once phone is finished booting back up:

start jeep
turn bluetooth on- on the phone
go to phone settings on the UCONNECT and a phone
re-pair your phone to the uconnect via the directions on the uconnect.
