Uconnect Song Titles - Spotify

I have a 2015 High Altitude with HK stereo. Car is only about two weeks old. I just noticed that when using Spotify with bluetooth that sometimes the song title does not change.

The next track button works fine. The songs play perfectly, but the song title never changes from the first track played when the phone is connected.

I also noticed yesterday that the song title changed for a few songs and then stopped changing all of a sudden.

I am using a Samsung S6 Edge.

Is there a fix for this?

Re: Uconnect Song Titles - Spotify

So I deleted my phone and paired it again. Seems to be working now.

Re: Uconnect Song Titles - Spotify

So this problem is still present. Not only does spotify not change song titles, neither do any of the other music services such as Google Play or Samsung Milk.

I can usually get it to work if I delete and pair phone but it then stops working after a few songs.

Basically, it looks like the song metadata just doesn't get transferred properly or is extremely buggy. After doing some research, it appears to be a some what common problem with android. There were a few apps that supposedly fixed the issue, but they don't seem to be working for me.

It isn't a huge deal as the music still plays and I can still skip, pause tracks, etc but kind of annoying.

I don't have this issue in my wife's car (Lexus IS).

I have the same issue with Rhapsody. I have noticed that if I pause the song and hit play again on the phone it resyncs and works until car is turned off again.

Curious if you see the same behavior with Spotify.

Happened after last android update. Each release is a downward spiral in performance and compatibility. Perhaps the next one should be funnel cake.

Works fine on wife's armada so I don't see it as a uconnect issue.

Re: Uconnect Song Titles - Spotify

Sometimes if I pause and press play the right song will the show up, but usually will stay stuck once the next song starts.

The only time I've been able to get it to work is whenot I delete and pair phone. It usually will work fine until I switch between different media like changing to radio or when car is shut off.

Very annoying. I really wish these car companies would just create a simp,e head unit that basically mirrors phone and call it a day instead of trying get to develop their own systems.

I was able to get Slacker Radio to work fine from my phone. Song title seem to show up with no problem. Even after I shut off my car and got back in. So I guess I am going to cancel Spotify and go with Slacker.

UConnect also has a slacker app that works pretty well too. The Uconnect slacker app shows all the album artwork, etc. Only complaint about the Uconnect app is that I can't figure out how to make it shuffle songs in my playlist and the song library isn't quite as good as Spotify, but good enough.

Re: Uconnect Song Titles - Spotify

So I got in an out of car a couple of times today. Also switched between media sources and Slacker Radio seems to be working perfectly.

It is great using the UConnect app. Shows the album art, etc.

If I use the slacker app on my phone to just stream with bluetooth, the song titles show up and are correct. All controls work.

I'm just going to continue to use Slacker premium.
