Everything went exactly as advertised.

I wish they would be a little more specific as to what they updated. Some version of "release notes" would be helpful, as opposed to saying that it is faster and more responsive...
There has been an unfortunate trend in the software industry to make absolutely certain no useful information is ever contained in a release note.

Microsoft didn't exactly start the trend, but they were the worst offender for decades.

Re: Uconnect update

Wow, that was fun. Calamity of errors.

First IE10 on Windows 8 did nothing after entering VIN. No buttons worked. Maybe Compatibility mode would have worked. IE drives me nuts these days.

Anyway so then I used Fire Fox.

Downloaded the Downloader and installed it. Could I find it, to run it after I installed it, no. Perhaps it's an IE addon. Wasn't sure. But I'm using firefox. Generally I don't like running downloaders and Direct is usually stable and fast even for massive files. I also tried running installer again in case I missed a message or dismissed a "Run Now". It said some file was locked. Ugh.

So I went back to firefox and went through tutorial and then nothing.

Then bumbled around and saw a skip button. Yippy, I like Skip buttons.

Then it prompted to download a ZIP. Ooh goodie, I'm getting somewhere.

Do I unzip it? No idea. Do I save it straight to USB Stick, no idea. Looked through docs and it said nothing about what file goes where. Maybe I missed it.

So I put the ZIP on the USB stick, and nothing.

Then I look in the ZIP and see an ISO file. Oh that must need to be "Burned" to the USB Stick (i.e. expanded).

No, it didn't like that at all. It started to "Play" every beep, bloop file it could find.

Ok, I must have missed a step.

Start over in fire fox.

This time it wants to download an .EXE instead. Oh ok, that will configure the USB stick.

Run it. It's just a WinZip self extract. What's in it. Oh an ISO file.

Crap, lets just put the ISO file on the USB stick. Couldn't ya just SAY THAT somewhere. Maybe I was blind. But I update dozens of devices. And the instructions are usually one sentence. Put FILE X on USB and Boot.

Bingo it's happy now. Took a good 15 minutes to update.

I upgraded from 13.22 to 13.38.52

Despite the clumsy path, I'm thrilled I could apply the update myself.

Re: Uconnect update

Did the update last night. The instructions could have been clearer and were not for a Mac (which I use) but the actual updating was smooth. One thing to note: There was a bit of a delay before the UConnect radio recognized the update on the stick. I almost gave up, thinking it could not read the contents. I suggest people wait a minute (or so) before removing the USB stick if it doesn't look like any updating is going on.

I did it this morning. For grins I tried again at work because I was curious if I was just stupid. It was pretty much the same. IE10 would not work (Windows 7). Tried Compatibility On. No help. Shut off Adblocker. No Help. Then turn Compatibility Mode back off and then IE 10 worked.

But no skip button comes up until you install the "Invisible" downloader. Once that is installed (or running). I think it's running immediately in the background and doesn't actually "install" anything (doesn't show up in Programs Installed, Not in IE AddOn's). Because the web page behaves differently after you run the "Download Installer".

Somewhere I had to restart again. Then I couldn't get IE 10 to work again. Even going through the same steps. Firefox was consistent.

It's flaky.

Just give me a direct download link and tell me where to put it. It doesn't need all this extra stuff that isn't stable.

Yeah, you have to wait a minute for it to find the ISO file.

I was doing it in the garage which is dark and I was just feeling around for the USB slot. And one time plugged the USB into my Flush Cigarette Lighter USB Charger.

We do provide this directly in the Premium Members area... for less than $5.00, you would have single file access to all of these things. I wouldn't want to twist anyone's arm on that, but I think the $5.00 is worth the time you put into this.

What's the benefit to this update if you're in 13.19?
