Updated: May 24 2013 @ 12:25pm EST

There were updates posted May 22nd 2013 for the 2014 Grand Cherokee containing both the 8.4A or 8.4AN UConnect systems (RA3 and RA4 model option codes). The notes below are updated as I get more information on these updates. People have used both the files I have posted, and are confirmed GOOD as well as worked with the Chrysler UConnect website, which at time of this update is running EXTREMELY poorly.

FYI the site is awfully slow, probably due to increased volume. If you get the white Bar across the screen WAIT, if you enter your VIN and click the button and nothing happens WAIT.... or do the items below as per the instructions.

Link to check: Uconnect | Support | Jeep

Here are the links for the speedy download (these are downloaded by members and re-uploaded for your ease of use) but if unsure not a bad idea to be patient and check your VIN above.

Here is the RA3
RA3_13_15_4-T3-8.exe (369.8 MB)
https://mega.co.nz/#!oNZCmLbJ!AiKWDH8mMR6kmoUkL7HftmrsPAZKZexh0ew2PQbd4l8

Here is the RA4:
RA4_13_15_4-T3-8.exe (370.3 MB)
https://mega.co.nz/#!A5UUHCBC!IJMrFgM4SsRmwLhGWLqtA2YdS5sjSf56JdIQt1n4f28

Instructions are Attached

** Confirmed update times for both versions are 9-10 min once USB is in (instructions state up to 45 must include the wait time for the UConnect site )
** It has also been noted that the Mega file downloads work much better with Google Chrome

Edit: So far the only reported issues are as follows

- If you had an "apps" button it will turn into "settings" but will turn back to "apps".
- You will MAY loose your XM Presets, some people seem to, probably relates to how old your original version is. The RA4 I did, DID NOT loose them
-This update does not include a Quadra-Lift setting for drop in park, I am not sure if this is possible but submit to Customer Service if this is something people want.

These items are confirmed good.

-NAV Presets saved are ok through upgrade.
-Phonebook is unaffected.
-Recent NAV Points are also not affected.
-Users haved noted a marked increase in Navigation speed.
-Users who were running the RAM Pickup update have had thier issues corrected.
-Bluetooth audio playback and track changes improved.
-General improvements in moving between applications

I will update this Post as Bugs and Fixes are reported.

** Please post back things you notice about these updates good and bad.

Had my 2014 Overland flashed to 13.15.4 two weeks ago at dealer, no issues until yesterday. Radio froze randomly while driving, no access to anything on screen except media (usb ipod touch). I tried stopping and starting but finally had to turn truck off for 5mins to clear trouble. When are they going to get this right?

Not only this but there are definitely some radios out there that had a hardware problem. So far the replacements have been good.

One of the issues talked about was Sirius reception which is an identified software issue which is being resolved in 13.19.0

Fellow JG'ers:

Figured I would share some input on this as I have been dealing with some uConnect issues since day one. I was the OP that installed the RAM update on my radio which worked out somewhat well (band aid untill the Jeep update came out back in May).

The original issue all started when I was getting the "phone requires service" message. No matter how many resets I could not get it resolved. Once I installed the RAM update it went away and did not come back. Had some issues with the RAM update but overall it was a small improvement worth doing while waiting for the Jeep update. Once the 13.15.4 update came out I installed that and it made the radio even better and more responsive.

Then some more issues came about, sometimes the radio would get frozen on one particular mode, not being able to change channels etc.. or would not get GPS Signal. While doing all the stuff with the RAM update, based on my relationship with the dealer, I was able to have them order a replacement radio and VOR it so I would get it ASAP. The units were on Backorder and it took a few days but we finally got it. At this point I was thinking to myself it was all just software bugs and I didnt really want to go through the hassle of having the radio changed. I figured why not wait for another update then see what happens but I was still having issues with my current radio on the 13.15.4 software. No voice commands, some freezing etc..

Then another issue popped up. After about 5-10 minutes of driving I would get "Blind Spot Monitor Unavailable, Service Required. I dont really use this feature and was in no rush to get it fixed but I reached out to the engineers I deal with at Chrysler and they said that I could all be radio related.

So sure enough this morning I'm in one of the service bays helping the tech replace the radio and for now all of the issues have gone away. The radio is still running the 13.15.4 software version. All the features are back and the radio seems much more stable, voice commands work, no GPS loss, and BSM is working as designed.

Interstingly enough, my previous radio was registered with uConnect access and worked great. I figured that when the replacement radio was put it I would have to Re-Register and set the service back up again, but no, not only was the radio already registered, but my app worked out of the gate and when I called the engineer he was able to load up all my data without me having to register again. Somehow these radios identify with the VIN # and when they are turned on for the first time they sync up with ChryCo servers based on VIN. This is why the radios have to be ordered for specific vehicles and the dealers cannot stock them. His system was showing both serial numbers and it was easy as 123.

The moral to this story is that as Willx and others like us are working on the software side some of your issues may also be hardware related. Chrysler is working to find out whats hardware and whats software so when your dealers send in a STAR case they can sort out a replacement radio for you ASAP.

Just my long winded $.02 :)

Is THIS revision pretty final? I just bought a 2014 JGC Overland yesterday and when I checked the uconnect site with the last 8 digits of VIN, said no upgrade...but I also know what you said...and it can be done. Also...anyone know how to change the background during playback of usb and sd card? It looks like baked dirt. Can we change it? Like a theme package? Luv this forum!!!

Guessing you have the indigo interior? I have the dried/cracked dirt terrain as well. I saw a video where they were discussing the interiors and how they wanted the background of the screen to match the rest of whatever color your interior is. Haven't found a way to change the background which seems a little odd given how much technology there is. Simply background change should be easy.

If you have 13.19.0 software (which I had when I picked up my Jeep last week) than that is the latest software out.

*Maybe* Try the new version, it has specific fixes for some causes of this. Dealer will load new version prior to replacement anyway. I would say proably more than half the people who are experiencing the problems you are having are either firmware or hardware related. Again, trying the update cannot hurt.

After I first applied this update I could see the Pandora and other media apps but when I tried to use them it says something about a subscription is required and then takes me to the app store. I don't know what I'm supposed to do there as I already have my trial Uconnect subscription enabled. Once this has happened the media apps are gone. I reapplied the update and did it all over again. Can someone please tell me what I'm missing here?

They are not available yet.. you will see that they disappear. Word is, 9/1

and FYI. they will not work without your phone. They will use your current data plan... you need to sign up for mymedia on the uconnect site and put in your account info for each.

OR, just launch pandora on your phone, then use the Bluetooth connect to listen. TADA.. no app needed lol

Oh, and you should be using 13.19.0 (the other thread)

THey need to LOCK this thread since its old :)

Does anyone know if there is an SRT specific update for the uconnect system?

When I enter my VIN on the driveuconnect site, I am told that my software is up to date. However, my current software version is older than the current release listed on this forum. Is this update universally applicable to all the 8.4AN systems or not??

You have the RA4 radio and is the same update file that others would use, no difference. Just get the 13.19 update

Maybe it's my voice but if I want to call my wife, Teresa it calls Sara. I wanted to drive to Kingston, Washington and it wanted to go to Illinois. I can't get it to find an Ivar's restaurant. I can usually get it to navigate home. I should say I gave up on Siri long ago too.

Anybody else having problems using the Uconnectaccess.com site? For the last week or so, it says, "The site is currently under maintenance. Please try later."

I have iOS7 beta on my iphone and the uconnect app doesn't allow me to enter my PIN, so I can't tell if it's working.
