Heck, they did not even know about the software update.. Thanks..
There's another discussion about that here: Exiting level ORII
It falls under the "Be careful what you wish for!" idea. Interesting opposing view.

Interesting... Well the questions could also lead to a manual update (documentation not a wrench). That is a very good point. You park in an unusual position and the vehicle lowers onto something that punctures a brake line.... Wouldn't be good

Hi guys first post here. Been lurking for a while. One week ago decided to take the plunge and got me my 14 Overland with Tech Package. One week and 300 miles after everythings working perfectly. One thing i havent done is to register at Uconnect. I wonder if anyones in the same boat as me. Holding off till they get the bugs fixed?

Registering with UConnect may cause some issues... It seems that way right now. Likely best to do the update and wait a little while before registering but just my opinion based on the fact that there is not much functionality right now you miss.

Re: UConnect updates available NOW!

Glad to see that my intuition was running on high. I too had my screen go black the other day and not come back on till I stopped and restarted twice. I too had my USB drive being used (while charging my Bluetooth earpiece) and running my iPhone on Bluetooth at the same time.

I immediately called my dealer since we just purchased the jeep the day before and had read about some troubles with the screen online. I haven't had the issue since and told the dealer I thought it had something to do with running the USB at the same time the Bluetooth for my phone running.

All my steering wheel buttons worked and I still heard the sound from phone but there was no screen. It glitched a little after that the next day but has worked great since.

Now that I have read others with this combo (USB and Bluetooth running) and screen going out might have something to it. I am hoping they can pinpoint what this is all about. Since I haven't run both since, I haven't had any problems but will be running the new 5-22 update today and hoping nothing else comes up.

We traded in our 2011 Overland v8 for the new 2014 Overland v8 and love the improvements so much so far!!! The things that bugged me about the 11 are improved in the 14 and I think are worth it so far except for Uconnect and screen issues. After these get taken care of it will be great!!! I have had Ford Explorer, Honda, MDX and Hummer before the 2011 GC Overland and now the 2014 GC Overland and it is one amazing vehicle. I love it 95% so far and when the screen gets figured out it will be 99.9%. The one percent is just that it doesn't drive itself while I nap.

Hate to burst your bubble but I tried many Bluetooth and USB devices while switching between all three (look back for a large post on my test).

It isn't that simple. There is either something going on with register vehicles on UConnect Access or a hardware / grounding issue affecting some vehicles... I couldn't get my test unit to faulter in the slightest.

Please make sure you are running the latest version though, we do know it fixes many things. If you are running older than .13 than there are some pairing issues

Re: UConnect updates available NOW!

Am I the only one having issues with the system resetting after the latest update?

Re: UConnect updates available NOW!

I have registered with uconnect and wish I hadn't now. I didn't have issues until then. nothing in registering that I couldn't have lived without. My current version is 13.10.0 Will doing the update mess me up since I have already registered?

I think they removed from the manual, but I need to double check, I had to look at something last week and downloaded the latest and I did see the option there

Re: UConnect updates available NOW!

Thought I would add to this thread. I just turned 2000 miles yesterday, have never registered with U-Connect and also don't use any phone pairing, USB's etc. Guess I am an old person but anyway for what it is worth: I have had absolutely NO issues yet and the NAV does seem to work perfectly. !? So I guess not registering yet is a good thing? Dave
