Updating a non registered unit has not been reported to cause any issues. It has been reported to fix some slowness.

Thanks for the info. Also, that is correct, the hard button is not illuminated so I would believe it is active. Thus, when the button on the Uconnect screen shows that it is turned off... What setting am I to believe. Is it activated or not??? Like having 2 light switches, both saying something different. Pretty crappy system for doing things especially on a safety item.

There is something about traction control and safety features must illuminate to show a warning that they are off in dash controls.... so when you turn off stability controls in other manufacturer vehicles the light comes on to "draw" attention to it. It is kind of a weird automotive standard. Of course on a screen in can layout clearly what the status is.

I am sure if I dug around in the car manufacturer rules handbook there would be some obscure guide on this

Just checked the Durango... light cones on for park sense off and light in cluster comes on for ESC off. Same idea

Two days after taking delivery, the backup camera would just stay a blue screen. Park sense seemed to be working fine. After updating Uconnect software the camera came back for about to days. Now it will be inop with every start, but comes back after doing the reset involving the mirror buttons. Is this unique and is there any point bringing it back to the dealer? Even if they document the same behavior it doesn't sound like something they would be able to fix-sounds more like a software issue.

Take it to the dealer. They will check what they can, and if they can't fix it they will contact Chrysler with the problem. Chrysler will direct them from there. A problem I had was solved by Chrysler sending a new PCM which the dealer installed. Even if it is a software problem, if they don't know about it, they will never fix it.

Can you please tell me the procedure you used to reset, using the mirror button? An what did this reset, all radio settings or just the camera?

I see mention that we get a free trial of UConnect. We bought two Jeeps over the past two months and neither salesperson indicated that we got a trial.

Can anyone share how long the trial is and whether we should activate immediately? Do we call UConnect to do this?

The salesman might not have mentioned it, but it is mentioned in the user's guide. It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure I registered through the touch screen in the Jeep. It's a trial to uConnect Access. which allows you to start your car, lock and unlock remotely, etc. with a phone or wifi intrnet connection. The trial is for one year from date of purchase with the '14 Grand Cherokee. I'm not sure it is the same with all models, and you just said you bought Jeeps.

• Your new vehicle may come with an included trial period for use of the Uconnect
R
Access Services starting at the date of vehicle purchase*. To activate the trial, you
must first register with Uconnect


R Access. Once registered, UconnectR Access
