Re: UConnect updates available NOW!

Ok, first post on the site! Question I have is I have the 8.4A but with Navigation activated by the dealer. So which software update should I load, the one for the 8.4A or 8.4AN? Current version of software loaded is 13.05 and we are having a lot of issues that all started after registering with uconnect. I'll be doing a new members post as soon as I'm done typing this.

Re: UConnect updates available NOW!

It's an 8.4A unit, so that's the update you should use. And welcome to the forum!

Thanks. That's what I figured and have already started the download. I appreciate your response.

Yep. It doesn't matter which key fob is in the veh in my case it switches between presets & favorites prior to udate and after the update. It seems to change every time the veh is started.

My system which was rebooting or freezing up on almost every drive(before and after the 13.15.4 update) seems to have spontaneously resolved itself. I have gone on 7-8 trips now without any problems. I am starting to wonder if the process of receiving the data in the background with some of these uconnect updates/changes over the air is causing the problems.

Re: UConnect updates available NOW!

On the other hand, I did register with UConnect, did the update to most current and have not suffered any problems. I do not have a cell phone paired with the system. As with several others, though, the "free" UConnect media apps remain lost in the ether....

I have been running this update since 5/24 and my iPhone 4 has stayed paired this whole time (was dropping every few days prior - then simply would not pair at all)

Everything else been working great!

The pairing issues with certain hardware and Bluetooth audio playback appear to be improve with the latest version. Users having issues with this after the upgrade may have a hardware issue.

The "storm" of UConnect app background "shuffle" seems to have calmed down down but users who activate today MAY see some haywire stuff on their radios for a few days post, so just be aware.

Good concept on the Multi fob question for radio presets flipping back and forth. It is possible that is somehow related so people might want to be mindful if they are in the vehicle with Multi-fobs and whether this has any impact at all (or the "near by" fobs while at home)

Also yes to confirm, you always run the update to your hardware model. The updates are essentially the same, just off by a few KB to account for the slightly different configuration from the factory. It doesn't matter if you have activated your Nav or not.

It was not easy and I still wonder if it is correct. It took me days to get it to take correctly and I don't know what combination finally worked.

I set one FOB for seat all the way back and the other all the way up so that I could tell when it finally had them programmed correctly. I then updated the second FOB setting to where my wife wanted it with hers. Can't give specifics on the procedures as I had to do it so many different ways that I don't know what worked. Sorry.

No worries, I consider this on topic as this is likely still related to peoples concerns about the system memories and configurations.

Will see if I can get more info on this for you guys.

BTW.... had some funny imagery of you practically sitting in the back seat and then being smushed up against the steering wheel while experimenting with this.... been there done that in another car
