I'll try unplugging my iPod for a while, but I must say that the infotainment features were a big reason I went with the jeep over just getting a new mazda cx-9. And now to debug the jeep I need to unplug the ipod. The irony....
It is a big reason for me too to be on the jeep. The reason why I ask about the USB is that it is a voltage draw (unlike SD) and if we can find some common thread on the issue then we can point the engineers in the right direction. I used to work with programmers every day, and you need to give them something to replicate. Slowness was an issue for all users but not everyone is using USB. If there is an issue with using USB that causes problems then it can be looked at for the next update cycle. 3 month updates would be considered Agile development so let's give em something to develop. Maybe if it is a major issue and clearly identified we can see that update sooner

Ok. I have a couple more trips this evening, so I'll leave the ipod unplugged and see if the system behaves itself.

I fell asleep for a couple of hours. When I woke up it only took another hour+ to finish. It then properly extracted to the flash drive. This was from the Jeep site.

If I hadn't read the instructions I would have hit save instead of run when starting the download.

Hi all - I'm installing the update now and I've been stuck on 79.6% for like 10min now. Did anyone experience this? Not sure if it froze?

To my knowledge, no one has seen this. Please let us know what happens. Not sure at this time how the system responds to an interupted update.

I downloaded the file from the mega site in under 7 minutes this afternoon. I saved the file to my computer as the EXE file. Then you extract it to the USB so it has the ISO file on the drive. If you know that you don't have this software version, just go ahead and do the install. Turn the car to RUN and just sit back to wait. It will ask if you want to update, should take about 10 minutes. Pretty easy to do that and everything came back, including the apps. So far so good, we will see what happens.

it definitely froze. I just pulled the USB and re-plugged it and it Re-installed. Seemed to work ok the second time.

Sno,

Have you noticed anything different/improved after the update?

It does seem a little quicker but haven't played much with it today. I have 2 - 1 hour drives tomorrow that I can test it out more. I will let you know.

Re: UConnect updates available NOW!

Please note, some people who had periodic freezing may still experience this... Still trying to figure out if this is connected to USB at all. As I am not working tomorrow I will see if I can spend some time duplicating the issue.
