Update phonebook 8.4AN

I recently added several numbers to my cellphone contacts. According to the Uconnect manual these numbers should be updated in the 8.4AN phonebook automatically when it connects to my cellphone. It's been two days so far, and this has not happened. Let me first say that I've had absolutely zero issues with my phone pairing and staying connected to my 8.4AN. When I originally paired them the 8.4AN automatically loaded my cellphone contact list and numbers. I tried re-pairing them and it didn't load the new numbers, and there is no provision for adding them directly into the 8.4AN. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, did you find a solution?

Thanks for response! I have a Samsung dumb phone (flip-phone). I've checked the connectivity settings, and they're correct for pairing and sharing phonebook. When re-pairing the phone the Uconnect screen actually shows "downloading phonebook", but new contacts don't appear. Hoping someone has had this same problem, and has found a solution.

Good luck with your problem too. Looks like we'll be waiting for a software upgrade. Not unusual with relatively new tech toys.

I have a Google Nexus 4, and after the initial load, every time I got in the car, the phone had a note asking for permission for the Jeep to sync contacts/call history. I eventually told the phone to accept every time automatically. I have not added any new numbers to see if it works yet, however. Maybe you have a similar option somewhere within the menu system? Mine is a smartphone so it popped up, but maybe a standard phone has it hidden somewhere.

I get a pop up on my dumb phone to allow the 8.4AN to download, but when I press yes it says downloading, then disconnect, and the numbers don't get loaded. They're talking to each other, but someones not listening!

Ouch! Don't take this the wrong way, I am not trying to imply anything with this, but have you tried deleting the connection on both the phone and GC, then turned off the phone and pulled out the battery for ten minutes, then tried again? If that doesn't work, I'm at a loss for ideas unless you unhook the car battery...

I have tried all of that, including disconnecting the car battery this morning. I am going to try re-pairing the phone to see what happens this afternoon, I will report back here with results. This is making me a little bit crazy!

Well, I'm back to square one. After disconnecting the car battery, removing the phone battery, replacing the batteries and re-pairing the phone, the same 64 contacts I originally had are still showing in the 8.4AN phonebook, but not the new numbers I've loaded into the phone. The funny thing is that two of the numbers I've been trying to load are my Jeep dealer, and Chrysler roadside assistance!

I guess I'll just wait until I take it in for service and ask the service manager about it.

I've tried that. Even went as far as to un-pair the phone and remove the Uconnect from the device list. Didn't help.
