Re: Updated New Pictures! Stealthbox/Audio Control Installed thus far

How are you going to hook the amp up to the factory system? Id kind of like to get that JL stealthbox but it seems kinda like a cheap ass sub... Its great though how it fits right in there though and doesnt take away from the cargo space. How are all you guys going to hook an aftermarket sub amp into the jeep though? I just bought this: C2A-CHY23 so I could add an amp to the head unit. So now I will be able to keep all the factory stuff except for the crappy factory sub. BTW I have a 2012 SRT8 with the HP audio. I think the sub is weak as hell, I need something louder that I can feel. How good is the W3v3 subwoofer and what type of sub amp should I buy?

Wow, that bow really flows well with the interior. Even if it doesn't match the carpet well, it still looks very OEM. I had a Stealthbox in my old Exploder and it sounded great. I keep meaning to get one for my X5, but I either get pushed back by repairs or tempted to buy a new car.

The 10W3v3 is the sub that comes in the stealthbox.. Does the job for me. I dont need to shake the road, but it provides more then enough bass in the vehicle if/when I want it to, I have it turned down quite a bit though for everyday listening.

The Stealthbox? It won't affect the cargo cover at all. The Stealthbox resides where the factory sub is/ or would be.

Re: Updated New Pictures! Stealthbox/Audio Control Installed thus far

How do you like the LC6i?

The reason I ask is b/c I am beginning to buy audio upgrades for my WK2, and am doing a JL Audio Stealth box, Focal IS 165 components for the front, Alpine SPR-10TW tweeters for the rear lift-gate, and Alpine PDX v9 500/5 amp to power everything. The only thing is I cannot make up my mind on the factory integration piece, wether to go with the LC6i, or the JL Audio Cleansweep.

How did you tap the factory Alpine amp to LC6i?

Sorry for the late response, I like the LC6i although I only use it thus far for my sub. The Audio Cleansweep looks like a decent product too.

I found all the wiring diagrams online, and tapped into the sources I believe after it exited the factory amp. I grabbed the channels necessary to create a full signal- Front Doors, Front Tweeters and Rear Doors. Its been well over a year so my memory isn't exact but it wasn't too involved.

Thanks bc we are going to do the lc7i, and tap a full range to.send to the amp and then let the Focal componentd seperate the signals. We were going to do Highs on one channel of lc7i, mids on a nother and lows on the final, then to amp, then from amp the left and right fronts on a channel each, the rears on a channel each and sub on sub channel.

I was hoping the technology would work, I dont know where to get a 12v remote tap from when the radio goes on, I was running on the signal sensing working and turning on the audio control and the remote out from the audio control going to the JL amp.
J13ntv - How did you mount the LC6I? Did you just use adhesive, velcro, or did you find a place to put a screw in? From the picture, it doesn't look like any screws were used. Also, were there any fitment issues with putting the panel back on after mounting it?

Thanks!

If I remember correctly, the right side I used one screw and on the left side it fit over a pre-existing exposed bolt. No fitment issues you just have to make sure you place it to not interfere with the panel. Where I placed it was about the only spot it wouldn't come in contact with panel or anything the panel uses to secure itself to the wall of the vehicle.

Could you use a smaller JL mono amp for this box? This is the only part of the system I want to upgrade so I dont think I need a 5 channel amp...
