You can use any mono block amp that is rated for 500 watts rms, which is the recommendation for the 10w3v3

Greetings,

Make sure that the mono amp is rated for 2 ohms. If the amp you select is to powerful, you can cut back the gain a iittle. I also recommend to look for a Class D mono block to maintain the current coming of the alternator. Today, the Class D amps are highly energy efficient. For example the amp I have is the Pioneer PRS-D1200M, just need the sleathbox next.

Best for now.

Cool Re: Updated New Pictures! Stealthbox/Audio Control Installed thus far

Was looking at the stealth box from JL myself. Heard its pretty sweet. Anyone recommend an amp to run it along with the rest of the 4 channels for fronts/and rears. Was thinking about the 5 or 6 channel from either JL or alpine. Thanks

Re: Updated New Pictures! Stealthbox/Audio Control Installed thus far

Does adding just the stealthbox and sub amp really change the characteristics and overall sound of the Jeep's 730N stereo? Im not extremely impressed with it yet, but I am trying to get the most improvememnt I can without replacing the entire system... Advice?

My suggestion is the Alpine PDX v9. It's 100x4 and 500 mono sub. 5 total channels. I am getting this to power my Focal components, Focal rear doors and stealth box. also don't forget you need some kind of converter from the stock amp. I suggest the Audiocontrol lc7i. Tap the front tweeters, front door and rear door for a full range of sound and let the new amp process it.

Re: Updated New Pictures! Stealthbox/Audio Control Installed thus far

Thanks. Any advice on amps to power a new system? Looking at the a 5 channel from either JL or Alpine. I will be adding the 10 in. stealthbox from JL as well as component fronts and some rears. Not sure of what to go with yet but have been checking out focals or Bostons. Planning to keep the stock head unit if I can for now.

Amp choices so far:
JL Audio XD700

JL Audio HD900

JL Audio XD600

Alpine PDX-V9

Thanks for the advice guys

Greetings,

For those who have the 9 speaker + sub factory Alpine system, since the DSP is based on a 7.1 speaker setup, you should tap the sub woofer instead of the rear door. The rear door does not go down to 20 hz (cycles) due to the surround sound (Eurphony)steering logic in the amp. The front tweeters, front door and the sub will give you the important 20 - 20,000 hz range.

IMO, the three best hi output converters to sum into a clean 2 channel output are: the AudioControl LC7i, JL Audio CL-SSI and the Arc Audio SRI ($$).

Arc Audio SRI

CL-SSI - Car Audio - OEM Interface - OEM Integration - JL Audio

Best for now.

I'm going with the PDX v9. Also, look at the post above me on how to summon and what converter to get.

Greetings,

Great City, still did not see everything their.

For a 5-channel, either the JL Audio HD900/5 or the Alpine PDX-V9.

Best for now.

If I replace the stock amp, should I add power to the other speakers that arent in the front and back doors? Arent there 3 more speakers?

I wouldn't go trying to remove the stock amp, there are too many factory electrical things tied into it. Rather i would leave it to power the rear surrounds and dash speaker, and buy a high level converter such as the LC7i and place between the stock amp and new amp, and tap front tweeters, front doors and sub for a full range and then let the new amp dicepher the signal and process it.

Re: Updated New Pictures! Stealthbox/Audio Control Installed thus far

Thanks Subbie. This was exactly what I was looking for. Stock amp will continue to run the rear fills and front speaker in the dash then and the new alpine 5 channel would run the rear doors, front components and stealth box. I looked at the LC6I for processing and also heard the JL cleansweep mentioned in the mix. Any advice there. Thanks much.
