You're going to have so many peaks and dips...not to mention amplifying any issues with factory amp such as NOISE....it would be insane. TIme alignment would be off and you may even have to do some phase shifting. I guess most people don't care, but if I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it right.

Agreed - you would have the same issue if you took the signal directly from the MyGig unit or from the factory amplifier. Both of them would be signals that have already been amplified, and with that you get all of the stuff that the amplifier introduces, including all DSP, noise, etc. One way to get around that is to install a different head unit, the other way is to use something like the PAC C2A-CHY23 and accept its limitations. It's a device that takes the signal off the CAN Bus and gives you a 2 channel analog output without any EQ/DSP on the signal.

I can deal with head unit signal....the factory amp has me concerned due to built in DSP. Have you noticed any low level noise? Hiss? Any weird timing issues or weird dips or peaks in the EQ? I don't have my AudioControl RTA anymore, but can use TrueRTA if needed...some android apps are pretty good I hear.

Yeah I'm waiting for someone to do all the groundwork on this. I understand the process and technicalities associated... I just don't have enough patience for the trial and error to get a result commensurate with the equipment outlay.

Credit to you guys putting in the hours

Cheers,
Steve
