One of the functions is called "jacking mode", which you use if you need to change a flat tire. I think it momentarily disables the self leveling function while you change the tire.

The other function is the "wheel alignment" mode, which lowers the vehicle to a specific ride height, and then maintains it, during the alignment procedure.

It seems to me, these functions are rather important......
How many times have you used them?

And how many times do you listen to your stereo?

I won't be missing these features that I didn't know existed...

You'll be missing "Jacking Mode" if you ever find yourself on the side of the road needing to change a flat tire now that you no longer can jack up your Jeep to change a tire!

But hey I'm sure listening to that awesome stereo head unit while you call a flat bed will all make it worthwhile!

And BTW simply replacing the stock headunit made a very noticeable improvement in the sound quality in addition to giving me newer features (Apple CarPlay, etc). I believe the stock headunit limits the frequency range a bit. The aftermarket headunit sends a full signal to the factory amp and speakers resulting in much better sound IMO.
Greetings,

In the 2011, when you remove the headunit it should not effect the QL. My headunit is gone and to date I have had any problems with QL. Ind addition, my factory Alpine DSP/Amp is gone and no problems either for the last 2 1/2 years. The key is to get the right harness that works with the HI Speed Cam Bus that is in the Wk2. The 2014+ models do have issues and that is why this issue of many issues that the aftermarket solution is slow to arrive.

I agree that the 430 and 730 series headunit is nothing to write home about. The simple fact and I have posted many times for those that fall into this category, this simple change of the headunit will be a major first step. And those who have the 6 speaker system can create a wonderful system down the road. Money worth spending.

Best for now.

Agreed.

I have a MUCH better sounding system by doing nothing more than replacing the headunit.

And by adding the maestro I was able to retain the backup camera, VES and also reprogram my steering wheel buttons to add siri and configure them the way I want them (volume on the left side).

After owning several BMWs I LOVE the fact that my 2011 JGC is easily upgraded to modern day technology (BMWs are not easy). In a couple years I may slap a 9 inch screen in my JGC

Sorry to bring up old news but where exactly are the six speakers. Front and rear doors. And are we saying the tweeters are the six? I keep seeing where people say there in the dash

In my 2015 GC Limited, with the "base" radio, the 6 speakers are the two tweeters, one in each upper front door panel; the two mid-base speakers, one in each front door; and the two co-axial speakers, one in each rear door.

Ok so I just ordered the R1 6x9 Rockford Fosgate to put in the front and rear doors. What size are the tweeters and what would be a good reasonably prices tweeter to put in there? I won't be adding an amp to power these. I also have a Rockford Fosgate 12" P3 in a ported box powered by a Kicker 800 watt RMS amp. Hoping these door speakers bring the music back to life. The stock ones are pretty muddy sounding

It is going to be a monumental challenge to get a 6x9 speaker in the rear door. It is made for a 6.5".

If these R1 6X9 Rockford's you are going to put in the front are either two-way or three-way speakers you may not need a new tweeter and may even want to disconnect the existing ones. I would also check the mounting height and depth of them before I started. If you do decide to replace the tweeter I would not get one with a much larger mounting diameter than 42.6mm.

Maybe you should re-read this whole thread and the others related to this topic before doing anything.

I have read the thread sir. The mounting depth will work. And I thought I read where the from and rear are 6x9 but some have "converted" to 6.5.
