Interesting. So they didn't have the three point mounting but they were wide enough in pitch to get a solid mount? Any pics?
Yours must be different to Andoskyy's Focals in the other thread...

No adapters needed for the front if using 6x9's. Should be a straight swap! You will need harness connectors for all or cut and connect.

If you get the focal integration series, you do. There isn't enough plastic to securely mount all 4 screws... Especially enough to create a tight seal, which you absolutely want.

Again not true. I am running Integration series Focals, IS165 and IC165. Again, I did not need an adapter plate. I just rotated the 6.5", marked and drilled new holes and achieved a tight seal. Look at m build thread I posted a link a few posts up. There should be pictures in there.

And at this point, i am done with this thread. I am trying to give expert advice having done a full install and my voice is not being heard. Good luck to all but if you mix and match speakers, or don't get another amp, you will not be reaching full potential.

I'm glad it worked for you, it did not for me. I'm not trying to argue, just giving my experience.

I felt more comfortable taking 20 minutes to make adapters.

Perhaps we have a small difference in them between model years. 2012 vs 2014? I have a 2014 and haven't attempted yet but eventually will.

I"ll be installing some 6.5" HAT's in the rear doors soon, I'll be sure to pay particular attention to the mounting options and hopefully take some pics to get clarity....

Edit: Subbie, I just had a look at the photo in your build thread and can see what you are saying... I have the adapters already, I'll just use them anyway...

Re: Upgrading just the base speakers?

Alright after extensive search and help from friends from this forum ....i just ordered the Focal 6.5" components. I already have the adapter from 6x9 to 6.5. I wont use the crossover supplied with speakers, I will let factory system take care of it. I really really hope that these 6.5" focals are better than factory system. because after changing tweeters from factory to focal tweeters it made a difference. Now I wonder which speaker wire is + and - for driver front door and what + and - for pass front door. I also have jeep speaker wire adapters so wont be cutting anything.

Shaky why did you go 6.5 instead of 6x9?? What will you be using on the two rear doors and are you replacing the tweeters in the rear pillars?

Hi, Actually I was looking for 6x9's but the problem is there was not much choice for me because i wanted to get Focal, and focal 6x9 are $ 399 which is more than i want to spend. thats is why i went with focal 6.5" speakers components . and as of now thats all i am gonna change. and see if i want to change rear door speakers or not. I am not sure about rear pillars, i dont know how hard or easy they are to change. have no plans for rear pillars so far. But will change rear door speakers after seeing the result of front door and tweeters. I really hope it makes good amount of difference.

Sounds good no pun intended,I guess you'll have to wait around 25-35 hours of usage for the new speakers to break in. What kind of deal did you get on the tweeters and the front pair of speakers?
