Upgrading Summit Audio?

I will be replacing my door handles in the very near future and began to wonder "Is there anything to be gained by replacing the speakers while I'm in there?"

Has anybody swapped out just the speakers in the Summit? Was there a noticeable improvement?

Greetings,

It all depends on how you, personally like the current OE audio system. If this is right to you than I would leave it.

Otherwise, search this thread for suggestions on upgrading your system for either the Alpine or HK.

Best for now.

Re: Upgrading Summit Audio?

Well, I do find the OEM setup to be plenty good, but I do not want to remove the door panels twice.

Re: Upgrading Summit Audio?

Gotta be careful with proper replacement compatibility for that location and application. The HK amp/DSP has those wires channeled/crossover specifically for frequency response range, wattage, speaker specs/design, etc...

these might be helpful:

Greetings,

100 percent correct for the HK system.

The biggest factor is the crossover points which is the frequency.

Another thread for the HK which gives some pros and cons is this one:

From the horses mouth on the Harman Kardon System

Best for now.
