Rage of fury how did you hook up your amp? Did you have to remove the seat to attach the power cord to the battery?

I installed the amp under the passenger seat, above the battery. I did remove the passenger seat to ease installation.

Disconnecting the battery before you do anything is a must. That way you don't risk an airbag going off or causing an electrical short.

Ya and I've read that you need to remove the negative batter cable for 10 mins before disconnecting the seats

Re: Upgrading the audio in my 2011 GC - full overhaul need opinions....

Rageoffury- How did you install your rear view mirror with the homelink? DHow did you remove the old mirror and install the new one? Question if I already have the mirror with that auto dims and has power running to it already can I just tap into that power?

Re: Upgrading the audio in my 2011 GC - full overhaul need opinions....

The OEM mirror on my Laredo E was simply screwed to a bracket on the windshield. One screw and it slides off. The new mirror simply screws into that bracket on the windshield.

As for power, I tapped into the switched 12V power plug in the center console storage bin. This involved fishing wire through the overhead console, under the headliner and down the A pillar on the passenger side. Tricky, but doable with a wire fishing tool.

If you already have the autodimming mirror then your job is much easier. Use a voltmeter to figure out which wire is ground and which is hot.

Nice work and thanks for the pics. Did you remove/replace the rear "fill" speakers in the back seat or the front speaker that is supposedly located in the dash? Was wondering how people were tackling this issue....

You will also need an adapter for the rear doors because it is a funky shaped over-sized 6 1/2" mount. Metra also makes that as a vehicle-specific one.
Could you tell me which adapter you used for the rears (model no/name) thanks. I went with crutchfield recommendation and now I'm installing the focal ic 165 in the rears and they don't fit without a bracket. So annoyed.

The IC 165 fit's, you just need to drill new holes for the speaker to mount.

I was afraid to do that because it looks like the new holes will be to close to the edge of the speaker opening. I guess I'll have to reevaluate.
