USB Cable - Pass-Through?

Hi, guys

I thought I read in the manual you can pass through a USB cable, but I can't find any potential hole or cut out I can pass it through and to where?

I don't like the cable just tucked inside the centre console. I want to have this pass through somewhere inside and out so I can plug my iPhone directly.

Any help or tips.

Re: USB Cable - Pass-Through?

Open up the console so you have access to the large compartment, then look to the right side of the console's frame, towards the dash and you'll see a small cutout. I've got my phone cable plugged in the console's charger via USB adaptor and route it out in through the cutout.

Thanks, jaybo41. I will take a look at it later and look for the cutout. If I recall correctly you're saying on top of the media ports, I know there is a large compartment that fits an iPhone correct? Then to the right of that compartment I should find a small cutout I can route the cable out. So...where does it route out to? If you don't mind providing a photo of how your cable eventually looks and rests onto. Only if you can spare the time. Otherwise, I'll report back my results. TIA.

Not the where the media console is but the center console.

Re: USB Cable - Pass-Through?

Oh, wow cool. Wait, now how do I route the USB cable from the media port in the centre and all the way there?

Or is it because you're just using a Cig power to USB and out there but no direct connection to the head unit?

Re: USB Cable - Pass-Through?

On the inside of that console under the arm rest, there is a cig port. I've got a cig adaptor with 2 USB ports plugged into the cig. Then a phone cable plugged into the USB port. It DOES NOT reach the media console where the USB port, SD Card and cig port are located. My use of this port is simply to keep the phone charged, keep the cable plugged in and keep the cables hidden as much as possible.

In my media console, I've got an iPod plugged in and that's the source of my music unless I'm listening to the radio. Using the arm rest console's USB port allows me to charge my phone and or stream music via bluetooth if I'm not using the iPod.

Clear as mud?

Re: USB Cable - Pass-Through?

Crytsal!

I was hoping I could route a USB cable from the media port directly out. I have an iPod, but I hate updating it and my subscription to Spotify on my iPhone is the most updated source of my playlist.

While I don't like using Bluetooth as if Spotify alone isn't compressed already.

But yeah I understand what you did. Thanks for all this and photos. I have a spare cig port to USB charger I can plug another cable just for charging for my wife.
