USB to wire adaptor

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a little help in regards to my 2012 Grand Cherokee.

I just replaced my stock head unit with a Pioneer avh-x5800bhs. I have a USB port in my center console that I had plans on keeping active with my new stereo as it has a USB port on the back of the unit.

To my surprise, it seems somewhere between the center console and the back of the OEM head unit, Chrysler converted the USB into a wired connection which then plugged into the back of the head unit.

Does anyone know where that conversion takes, place and how I can access it and convert it back to a standard USB connection?

As Info, Chrutchfield stated I would need a micro to standard USB adaptor.

Thank you in advance,
Rdcardsfan

In the center console passenger side it was connected by a mini usb. When I had put my alpine in my 2011 I used a charging cord from my ps4 remote.

Thank you. Can you give me an idea as to how far from the radio that connection point is and how easy/hard it is to acces?

Thank you

If I remember to access it was to pull off this panel. ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1466547864.481845.jpg With the center console and radio out you can get the wire to run down to it.
