Using navigation and other features while in motion

I just bought a 2015 V6 Overland. Is there any way to disable it from telling me I cannot use it while driving? My passenger would like the accessibility while I'm driving.

You need you purchase the RAX jailbreak for it. Google customtronix jailbreak. They are great guys!!

Re: Using navigation and other features while in motion

Not sure on the 2015s, but there is not a way on the 2014s (without jailbreaking), and the two model years are almost identical. Safety feature, either pushed by the government or the lawyers at Chrysler, most likely.

Re: Using navigation and other features while in motion

Voice command will allow more commands to be utilized while the vehicle is in motion, but other than that, you're only options to allow input when not stopped is to buy a Lockpick device or the software break that was already mentioned. There are threads about this in the Audio/Visual/Navigation discussion area up above where these topics are enjoyed.

Also applies to pairing Bluetooth devices. My front seat passenger was unable to connect iPhone via Bluetooth while in motion.

Re: Using navigation and other features while in motion

I just purchased a Crux AVICH-03 (CRUX Interfacing Solutions ::: AVICH-03) which enables VIM from iPhone/Android; once I install and use it a bit I'll post on here if it enables factory navigation input on the screen while in motion.

Re: Using navigation and other features while in motion

How do such items effect warranty claims? So many of the reported problems with WK2's are computer related. Does using jailbreaks or other software void warranty?

I replaced 3 infotainment units so far under warranty. I don't know if for unlucky consumers like me, the RAX (software unit) is the best choice. In the latest incident, the unit crapped out entirely (black screen) so one could not uninstall the RAX software. Aside from that, both solutions make use of a harness that can be easily removed.

Re: Using navigation and other features while in motion

Maybe I am missing something, but I can select favorites, POI's, turn guidance on/off, find an address, zoom the screen, etc. while driving using the NAV buttons.

Re: Using navigation and other features while in motion

Can you manually input an address while your moving? Or manually search for a POI while moving?

Or even watch a movie?

I rarely input an address, just input a city, and I can search for a POI and select it, both while moving. Not a fan of movies. Have been able to do this since taking delivery and used it frequently during a fall trip thru New England. It is similar to my stand alone Garmin NUVI. UConnect is at 14.25.5
