I guess someone has to be the guinea pig, and they are us. Just hope they don't push something that will brick our Jeeps.

I can't even fathom that this could be happening. Did they not beta test all of this stuff prior to the release of the '14's. Aren't they using this same application in other Chrysler vehicles? It boggles my mind when I read these forum threads. If they can't fix this problem, I'm not even getting a new radio. To me, it's counter-intuitive to go this route. It CANNOT be that they've installed so many defective radios in these trucks. There is something else in play here. Perhaps an inherent defect in the architecture. One member recently posted a video where his new JGC (his second one, the first was bought back by Chrysler) was acting as if it were possessed, the horn was blaring, the rear windshield wiper was going crazy - he actually killed the ignition, left the truck and took the key fob and it still didn't stop. It was insane. I have NEVER seen a brand new car act that way. NEVER. I am looking at the 10th Anniversary Rubicon on Friday, going for a test drive. This is simply too much to take. No one needs this much stress over a brand new vehicle.

Update on the "not registered" problem. Was out running errands this evening and decided to give it another try. Twice it recognized my radio and started putting through the call. Both times I ended the call before they answered. I was in traffic and didn't want to try having a long conversation. When I got home I tried again in my driveway. Call went through and CSR put me through to someone versed on the problem. This person checked my ticket log and told me they had pushed an update (didn't say if it was the same or different than the one they pushed yesterday) and were scheduled to call me tomorrow to see if it took. High fives the whole way around, and she said if it recurs to call the 800 number for Uconnect and they can get the ticket number using my VIN. Hope that's not necessary, and glad I'm not heading in for a new radio. Played around with everything, and all seems to be working fine.

that "possession" was due to a broken drain hose from the sunroof pouring water onto the computer lol

and THAT is one of many reasons i wont ever get a sunroof again.

I know how you feel. I love my Overland, but wish I could have ordered it without a sunroof. I've seen too many issues with them on all makes and models for many years. As crazy as it sounds, I think if I started having leak problems I'd be tempted to go to a body shop and have it taken out and fill the hole with sheet metal. But then, I've been known to over react at times, ask my wife.

I called this morning because the reinstall apps trick failed after the first day as jacko reported. The lady that answered wanted to try it again as she thought that fixed the problem. I told her no that it will only work for one day. I feel bad for all the people they have probably helped, only they will find out at some point that it didn't actually fix the problem. She put in a ticket and said they would get back to me. Hopefully the next person I talk to knows what the real fix is. I mentioned that they need to push some update to my radio to really fix the issue. Hopefully that happens.

SO does this system call you if you are in a wreck and the airbags go off like onstar?

Update on the "not registered" problem. SUCCESS! U-Connect fixed the problem. I would suggest anyone who has this issue to contact U-Connect and have them open a ticket. They sent through an update, I went through the start-up cycle, and was able to access them via the radio (with my cell phone Bluetooth being disabled).

Looks like they fixed mine as well. I tried it about 6am this morning and it didn't work after doing another app reinstall the day before. I tried it about noon today and it worked. I talked to the vehicle care people. They don't even know what services they are supposed to offer. I was expecting them to be able perform services like on-star like tell you what a check engine light is for, or call police if your airbags go off. It doesn't look like they do any of that.
