I'll bet there are a lot of people who let it lapse. I'll bet it's the same for satellite radio. It's enough off a rip off paying for TV. There are just too many companies who want in your pocket every month for this kind of crap.

These damn companies start a business, provide a service {if you want it} , hire people to provide the service, and expect to make money for their efforts.

Carl Marx must be turning over in his grave. The pope is railing against it.

Personally I'm all for Capitalism and freedom of choice.

My choice has been to never renew these things, but if I did I would expect to pay for it.

I agree with all of that. The problem is you have to provide a service people really want. Todays cable TV and satellite radio doesn't cut it for me. (How many times can you watch reruns of "Goodfella's or "The Green Mile"?) Or do all of these U-Connect "features". With that said, I hope they are successful. The problem is if and when times get tough, these type of services are usually the first people come to the realization they can easily live without.

If you've recently purchased I'd swing by the dealer and have them pair your phone up and walk you through setting up your ownerconnect account and installing the app.

The Uconnect doesn't care or know what service provider your phone is. MotoG should pair no issue.

I hope your right. I'm going to take both phones and the vehicle in, and see what they can do for me. This stuff is easy if you've done it and are familiar with the procedures........ I'm not.

Re: What Are You Paying A Month For Your U-Connect 8.4?

The only U-Connect feature I really care about is the one I hope I'll never use... remote notification that my alarm went off. I live in the city so it gives me a little piece of mind when my car is parked blocks away from my apartment. That was worth ~$180/yr (don't remember exactly what it was) to me.

I agree with you in that I'm not seeing anything on that screen I'm willing to pay $15.00 a month for.
I have a Moto X 2013 and never had a problem with pairing/bluetooth. As others noted, the Uconnect features are activated via the Unconnect app that you need to download to your phone from the Play Store. I believe someone already provided a link.

I'm glad to pay for anything that gives me value for my dollar. That's why I bought the JGC - by the time I priced out equivalent features on a Wrangler, it was almost as much as the GC Limited I bought with less refinement. The value for the dollar wasn't there for the Wrangler, but paying a bit more got it for me in the GC.

The same goes for satellite TV. I like the service and get a lot of entertainment out of it. It's worth the money for me.

The UConnect service doesn't provide value for the dollar. It's too expensive for what it does. The result is, I won't be paying for it when my trial ends. If it were less than $10 a month, I would consider it, but not for what they want for it.

The same goes for the XM/Sirius service. I tend to either listen to the news on the radio or my own music I choose to listen to. The result is, I simply don't use the satellite radio at all. When it runs out, I won't even notice.

To the OP: as long as you don't give them a credit card number, you'll be fine using the service. When the trial runs out, it will bother you a bit to subscribe, but eventually it will shut up and go away.

Re: What Are You Paying A Month For Your U-Connect 8.4?

OK guys, thanks a million! I've got everything downloaded and both phones are paired to U-Connect. It was the app that I was missing. Once I downloaded the posted app into my phone, and established an account with U-Connect, everything went fine. It's unbelievable that link was able to dump that app right into my phone from my desktop.

I've got both phones paired with the U-Connect, and also downloaded both phone directories into the car as well. I went for a drive with both phones. First one, then the other, and made and received calls on both. So everything works well.

Re: What Are You Paying A Month For Your U-Connect 8.4?

One more question. Let's say my wife and I are driving together with both of our phones turned on, and in the car at the same time. Will it confuse and screw up the U-Connect? Or won't it matter as long as both phones are paired to the system?
