Re: What's on Your EVIC? Digital MPH?

i agree with all of you, but my biggest issue is with glare during the day. you cant even see the analog needle at all, because of the angel of the clear covers over the gauges. any one else find this super annoying or having the same issue?!

Re: What's on Your EVIC? Digital MPH?

I leave it on mph, but do change while driving to check tires, temperatures and mpg... at least until NYS make it illegal to do while driving.

Never had an issue with this myself. My solution is 5% tint all around and 78% windshield tint

It would be a combination of how high/low position the seat (assuming you have electronic seats), and how high/low you position the tilt steering wheel, and how tall you are (a taller person will have a longer torso which will raise their head higher than other peoples').

Me being 6'2", I tend to keep the seat low to give me headroom. I also like it pushed back for more legroom. But doing both of those things makes it more difficult to reach the steering . So I lower it, too, so I don't feel like I'm reaching into the sky to steer. But lowering the steering wheel causes the top of it to block the speedo (and also the turn signals / headlight indicators)). In fact, I'd like to lower the steering wheel even more, but keep it a bit higher than I'd like so I can see the turn signals.

Thanks for reminding me. I like it, but in the end the speed readout is more important.

Bingo! Now I feel ten years younger.

Re: What's on Your EVIC? Digital MPH?

I sense an approaching custom mod/upgrade for the JGC looming...

Replace the gauge cluster/EVIC with an LCD/AMOLED screen and allow custom skins with any information you may require. You could even emulate analog gauges; just size them and arrange them as you like.

I recall a thread hereabouts showing one user with a tablet balanced in front of the gauge cluster and plugged into the data-port of the vehicle. While I don't recommend this specific solution, it is a step in the proposed direction.

Another possibility (using an LCD or similar screen) would be to "reverse" the image and put it on top of the dash (in some stable and attractive way), then adhere the proper material to a portion of the windshield to allow a "HUD" display.

Re: What's on Your EVIC? Digital MPH?

Almost always have it set to vehicle speed, every now and then I take a quick peek at the Fuel Economy.

Like most on here I do the same. Can't see the anologue speedo at all. Although I find the menu system requires a bit too much attention to flick from one to the other while driving.

I would LOVE it if Jeep upgraded the software so that the EVIC could show your speed and fuel economy at the same time. Speed in large font with fuel economy smaller below it which is what my X5 had.

Does anyone know if this is the sort of thing that can be altered by Jeep via a software upgrade??

Re: What's on Your EVIC? Digital MPH?

Speed most of the time. Fuel economy, tires, etc. once in a while. I can see the analog speedometer just fine but it is much easier to glance at the digital one.

Re: What's on Your EVIC? Digital MPH?

I actually prefer it showed what your radio is playing below the speed display line. Most of the time, I set it to show speed but switch over occasionally to see tire pressure and mpg.
