Re: Whats the diffrence in Nav radios?

Is the 730 Nav unit available now on Limited models? Seems like with the latest re-shuffling that only the Garmin 430N unit is available.

I'm not sure how he'd know; they've barely been delivered. Besides, with Garmin being the gold standard for routing in the standalone GPS market and the 730N getting the Garmin makeover early next year, methinks your dealer is spinning a line of bull to get you to order the more expensive model.

Re: Whats the diffrence in Nav radios?

The jeep.com site now has the 430n for the overland but it says
(. The Uconnect™ Voice Command with Remote USB Port is optional.)
Does anyone know what this option is. Do you have to order something else to get the Uconnect Voice Command . Anyone have any ideas on what this is?

Re: Whats the diffrence in Nav radios?

I wonder, since both navigation units are harddrive based and have usb connectivity, if it would be possible in the future to replace one navigation software system with the other?

I noticed that, too and yet I didn't see it on the options list to select it. Also the 730N is $305 more than the 430N. Is it worth that price increase?

Re: Whats the diffrence in Nav radios?

I called jeep and asked them about the (. The Uconnect™ Voice Command with Remote USB Port is optional.) The people I talked to had no idea and said they would find out nd call me back ( that was Friday not call back yet). I'm hoping its the voice stuff that the 730n has if so the only think the 730n would have over the 430n would be the dead reckoning. I would go with the 430n for sure since it has more that the 730n does not and ts cheaper.
Maybe we can find out in the chat tonight on this site maybe

The 430N does not have voice programing of the Nav unit. It has voice programing of the other stuff just not the nav part. At least that is what I have read. The 430N also does not have split screen capabilities that the 730N has.

Re: Whats the diffrence in Nav radios?

Thanks Steve52 forgot about the split screen. I hoping that the Voice command option will help on the NAV thing thats a big plus for the 730n. but the the being able to play audio direct from the usb is a big plus for the 430n since that means you do not have the hard drive limit of the unit. The steaming music from your ipod over bluetooth is nice on the 430n so you do not have hook it up to the cable like on the 730n.
