Re: Which Lockpick for 730 RHR

While looking at the CHR550 it looks like it has a hard wired apple connetor.
I would imagine the two existing USB ports will still work properly, can anyone confirm?

Re: Which Lockpick for 730 RHR

I have the 730 with the CHR550 lockpick device installed. I then used a audio/video to iPhone cable. The cable it comes with is a little stiff and do not like it all that much.

My favorite thing about it is using the MLB and NHL applications. I travel a lot so having the packages for both sports on my devices is very much worth it. Here is a picture of us driving down to Myrtle Beach last summer and having the Red Sox vs Yankees game on.

Re: Which Lockpick for 730 RHR

The CHR550 looks cool.

For those of you that have installed in a WK2 I have a couple of questions:

1) Did you use anything to secure the CHR550 box within the dash? If so, what?
2) Where did you run the iDevice cable so that it accessible?

For #1 I was thinking about using velco so that I can secure it within the dash but have it easily removable.

For #2 I was thinking about running the cable into the cubby under the HVAC controls. Perhaps I can pop the 12V receptacle out and run the cable through that hole. Thoughts?

Re: Which Lockpick for 730 RHR

I have mine installed under the radio and have the iPod cable running into the compartment under the HVAC. I did not secure it with anything as it's pretty snug. I also ran the USB cord down the right side into the passenger side and tucked it near where the passengers left ankle would be making it easy to plug in a laptop for updates.

Awesome, that's exactly what I was thinking of doing. How did you run it into the compartment? Did you have to drill a hole?

I'm assuming there is no rattling of the box the way you've installed it. Do you think there would be any benefit to securing it? I hate rattles!

Re: Which Lockpick for 730 RHR

Can anyone comment on the Video Quality once any of these is installed?

I heard the original backup camera video quality drops once any of these is installed.

Hey Sox, my question about the 2 existing USB ports is specifically about the factory installed ones. Meaning the one on the head unit and the one in the arm rest. Not talking about the USB port on the lockpic device.

Do those two USB ports still work with when you use the CHR550? I suspect they do but I want confirmation from someone who is using the CHR550.

Re: Which Lockpick for 730 RHR

@ kmt16,

That pic of the MLB straming video is awesome!

Seeing you have the 730 RHR, can you confirm for me with the CHR550 installed, do the two factory USB ports, lower right side on the Headunit and in the arm rest still work after installing the CHR550?

Thanks!
