WOW 430N RHB software update

Unbelievably easy, went from 33.00.41 to 33.01.23 to 50.01.01 in 35 minutes.

Followed exactly step by step the instructions on TSB 08-061-13

Screen difference

Very happy with the update, I now get better MPG and feel a little more performance out the hemi!

Re: WOW 430N RHB software update

Ok... I have a lot a lot of reading to do. Where should I go to find out more information about this???

The one thing I hate about my Jeep is how old the radio system looks!

More info please or point me in the right direction?

Re: WOW 430N RHB software update

I too did a lot of reading on many forums. The common theme for those with problems was they put the ignition in ACC, needs to be RUN mode

I downloaded on my pc each in separate folders the .iso file 33.01.23 and separate folder for 50.01.01 just to keep separated. Go to Download Now | MyGig RHB 50.01.01 Software Update

I already had Magic ISO burner to burn each .iso file to separate CD-R's, don't use DVD. At mygig are free ISO burner software downloads. I burned at the slowest speed, 8X. Make sure you "finalize" the CD after burning

For the TSB go to http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_0806113.pdf

Follow the TSB and be patient, you'll get some black screens as it upgrades

I put in the first CD to upgrade to 33.01.23 after it completed, removed the CD as instructed, turn the GC off, started the engine just run the it a minute, tested the radio, saw that it did upgrade. Then repeated the steps for 50.01.01

I'm not a huge techy guy, just enough to understand what to do and follow directions

Hope this help, I do like the new screen look with my black interior, do go and read up this and do it!

That's one heck of a radio update.

You should try changing your windshield wipers...provides a noticeable bump in torque for the sunroof motor.

You didn't update your maps before going to v50?

You have to go back to v33.01.23 if you want to update the maps.

Dig around in the forums, there are 'ways' to update your maps. (wink, wink)

I'm not a fan of the navigation / maps in the Jeep

I typically use my phone over BT

I keep friends addresses in my Jeep nav.
That way if I'm 'out and about' and need to get to their house I don't have think about the quickest/easiest route to get to their house, I just bring up the nav.

I live in the Twin Cities (which is a very large metro area encompassing multiple counties) with friends from our boating group spread out all over so while I know how to get to their houses from my house, sometimes if I'm not at home the 'best' route to a friends house takes too much time to think about.

I also put a neighborhood gas station address in as my 'Home' address so that if I'm somewhere unfamiliar I can just use that to get back home via the quickest route.

I tend to use my Android phone for a lot of navigation too. Since I can look up and address and just press on it to have Google Maps come up and guide me.
