Re: '14 Laredo DIY: Front-lower-bumper-chrome insert

[QUOTE=DocPerry;850793]Make the front of your Laredo look like a Limited!

So, first you'll need to head to your local dealer and order the chrome insert. Cost me $18.86 at the parts counter. That's right. I'm pretty sure mopar screwed themself with this price tag. Apparently a similar piece for the '11-'13 costs $180... Hmm... ]

G'day Doc,
Rob from Melbourne Downunder here,
Like you, wanted to bling the Laredo crd up. Bit bland in the front. Did a bit including Summit chrome grille inserts and SRT type blackout.
Thought that the chrome lower surround would top it out, so looked around. Locals here wasnt sure if the part was interchangable or not, as was Moparone, Mopar USA, Mopar Australia etc.
Asked around on Jeep Garage with no positive answers.
Searched around and got your excellent post on the job.
Answered all my questions and then some.
Checked out the cost of the part, $18 but the mailout to Downunder was $240!!
Went to our local Jeep spare parts and the part was OZ$75

So will do that and should install it with the help of your advice.

Great machine the MY14 crd and they're selling like hotcakes in Orstraylya.
Doc, will post the pics of the completed job here.

Re: '14 Laredo DIY: Front-lower-bumper-chrome insert

I 'am also thinking of adding the lower bumper Chrome insert to my Laredo Y14 during the holidays

Hymer do you have the MLB supplier contact as most of the local Syd Jeep dealers do not have it in stock

DO, I got mine direct from my local Jeep dealer here in Melbourne.

From the day i ordered it to the day he rang me up to say it was there was about 6 days. Amazed. No further suggestions.

Cheap price in USA but freight is a killer.

This part cost me $75 here and and onther $90 for them to fit it.
Good deal I say.

Just keep ringing around each of the Jeep dealers in your area.

I got the part from Mentone Jeep, (03) 9581 6200 www.mentonejeep.com.au

Part Number 68141939AC Applique Kit Fascia

Take a trip to Mexico City and get it fitted!!! :-)
Bluey.

Re: '14 Laredo DIY: Front-lower-bumper-chrome insert

I just called my local dealer and they went through the whole "this has been superceded by..." blah blah blah... apparently there are none of the simple aplique parts left in the warehouse. Has anyone had any recent luck purchasing this part for the $20.00 price ballpark? I refuse to settle for $300.00 for that entire fascia piece. Thanks!

Re: '14 Laredo DIY: Front-lower-bumper-chrome insert

I picked one up from a Hunter Jeep dealer first week in January 14 for $64.00, that was trade price, had to grovel a bit but knowing it sold for $18.00US I was up for anything, haven't fitted it yet, waiting for my tow hooks.

yep, thats about right. Paid $75 for mine down here in melbourne, another $80 for the dealer to fit it.

better than the US$300 they want for it now in the States.

Makes a difference.

Lance, why not go back to the first page of this post and get a blow by blow description (and pictures thrown in) from Doc Perry of the Alamo.

And if youre in Melbourne (not Florida, but Orstraylya) call in and you can have mine for nix.
