On one of the WK2 tow threads there is a photo of my DirectLink with the windshield mount in the far left lower corner.

I saw that I was more wondering about the box box direct link where that is stored under the wheel.

Re: 2014 JGC Brake Controller DIY

I have just installed the P2 controller on my 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited but when I turn the vehicle off the controller stays on all the time instead of timing out like it does on my ford p/u. I am afraid of it running the expensive battery down. Anybody have any ideas. For now I have removed the plug from the controller.

Re: 2014 JGC Brake Controller DIY

I just purchased a 2014 JGC , diesel with a tow package. I found a small harness in the glove box that I figure is for the brake controller. The dealer told me that they must instal the brake controller so they can program the ecu, is this true? If not what kind of brake control do I buy? What is a P3 and Directlink that everyone is talking about, forgive my stupidity I just don't get what to do.

Also consider the Primus IQ that's what I decided to get when my truck gets in.

The main question you need to ask is what are you towing. Are you going to be towing multiple things?

I was going to go with the direct link as money is not an issue when it comes to safety until someone brought up a good point. If you aren't going to permanently attach the remote it be an issue at least that's how I look at it. I want the controller to be in the same spot every time so I can reach for it without looking. Also if its an emergency and you reach for it you don't want it being knocked over and fall to the ground. With both the p3 and the direct they are great if you are towing multiple loads. Unlike the mopar vs which is applies the brakes based off of time the Primus iq and p3 and direct all apply based on pressed.
