Exposed, hope it helps some. I still think its strange Jeep didn't put the hooks on it or at least as an option. If they had just intended the summit to be a fancy mall crawler then why put quadra drive and quadra lift on it. drive system and lift is the exact same thing as on the overland, they give the ability to go out there but if you get stuck too bad lol. driving on the beach is fairly mellow off-roading but it is easy to get stuck no matter what type of suv you have so it is good to have the hooks.

Re: 2014 Summit Front Tow Hooks

I agree 100%..... If fact, I was dumb in thinking the SRT8 version was not a different breed than the Summit, Overland, etc. It was all Jeep Grand Cherokee. I bought the SRT8 thinking it was the same except having the 6.4 Hemi instead of the 5.7 Hemi... Come to find out after buying, no where the same setup. After a month decided to bite the bullet and trade back in for the Summit.. So far I am very pleased with the 14 Summit. Will head out for Colorado in September and give it a work out and see if holds up to the task.. I have been using a 2012 King Ranch Expedition off road and it was nice. Just a little bigger than we needed for me and the wife.... Anyway, will tackle the hooks this coming weekend for sure...
thanks for the information...

You can do all the OEM skid plates for around $420 shipped they are a pretty easy bolt on if you are heading anywhere rough. Crawl under and look at those two plastic gas tanks hanging there and you will want them lol

Yes, I was very disappointed in the under carriage armor that it comes with.... Cardboard covers are all they are... The Expedition has nice plates on all the critical locations. On the Jeep, the only positive thing was I could use as a template to build some or go buy them. We use the ATV's for all the real rough stuff but do lots of back road traveling in the Jeep.

Price for all 5 of the OEM is not that bad if you do if yourself. Dealer would probaby charge a good bit more for them to do it.

Re: 2014 Summit Front Tow Hooks

So you ordered yours from the Factory Chrysler Parts (link on other blog)? Looks like $471.68 with delivery cost.. Guess they have gone up or you found a better deal.. After thinking about it, decided to go ahead and order them. I guess I will take the tranny cover off and have a piece of plate broke to match to cover the tranny. Then should be covered all under hopefully....
thanks
