2014+ WK2 Airbag Removal instructions/ Steering wheel removal

Just in case people need this later and can't find it. Air bag and connector removal instructions for 2014+ WK2 JGC

Before all of this make sure your wheels are straight, so that steering wheel is straight!

I found that the Allen key wrench works better than a screw driver to pop off the airbag. Find one that fits the hole perfectly and the flat end of it should hit the spring perfectly.

To remove steering wheel, you need a 10mm Hex on a breaker bar. careful when pulling the wheel off as you have to slide some of the wires through the wheel.
On my 2014 WK2, steering wheel came off easy, some may need a wheel puller.

Good Luck!

Are you installing the SRT flat bottom wheel? I did this in my 11 challenger. Put the 12 SRT flat Bottom wheel in. I might think about doing this in my Summit

I'm sorry to dig this back up. I thought the Jeep airbag couldn't be used on the SRT steering wheel? Apparently I was mistaken, but is that safe to do?

Did you ever figure out how to get the heated wheel to work ? Which steering wheel is plug and play for the heated wheel functionality on a non SRT?

I heard the charger SRT wheel works but the jeep SRT one doesnt?

Could be colour coded to match if it worries the owner.

Hey! I have the 14' WK limited with the leather wheel, but found a black wheel that isn't the leather but the shiny one if you know what I mean...used to be a wooden trim on the older limited jeeps. I wanted to know if it's an easy swap to do and if I needed any extra parts for it, or if it's simply a straight swap. PM me if u can or text me:908-523-8357. Thanks,Mike
