2015 WK2 HID install troubleshoot

Hey Guys,

Just bought the h11 morimoto kit from The Retrofit Source. I had these on my last car and love the product.

I had a little trouble with the install tonight and had to just leave everything as is. I got the cap off of the projector to remove the original halogen bulb, but couldn't get the bulb out to even begin the process. Is there a trick to this? It felt like it was glued in there almost and I did not want to force anything.

Thanks!

Re: 2015 WK2 HID install troubleshoot

The bulb comes out counter clockwise.

One trick I learned is to leave the harness on the bulb to give your fingers a little extra to grab when twisting it out.

I attempted to install OPT7's in this past weekend. You can get to the passenger bulb from the access panel under the wheel well but better leverage from the top to loosen it. The driver's side just take air box out. I was upset the OPT7's weren't sitting in the housing properly and not projecting properly. I used a friend of mine's H11's as well to test and had the same problem. I may have to go with another vendor, I am pretty bummed. Let me know how your install goes.

Re: 2015 WK2 HID install troubleshoot

I wish mine looked like that. When I installed mine the light cut off was turned upwards and a lot of light was shining into the engine compartment. I have heard that they changed a few things form '14 to '15 but I doubt the assembly. I was in touch with OPT7 support, they are sending me a replacement set to be on the safe side but I don't know if it will help. Did you have to force the bulb into the assembly? Or did it click right in?

Your bulb orientation may be wrong as regarding the locking tabs

Re: 2015 WK2 HID install troubleshoot

Hey. For this kit to install, did you have to use the Capacitor Link? Or can I just install with just the CanBus?

With the link above, which one of these install diagrams should I be following?
