2015 wk2 rain sensor localisation

Where are the rain sensor located? We are advise not to put windshield coating (like Aquapel rain repellant). If I could know exactly where are the sensors, than I would apply Aquapel everywhere, except to the sensor area

It is located in the blacked out area of the windshield, in front of the rear view mirror.

Re: 2015 wk2 rain sensor localisation

As the Jeep aged, I have noticed that a "false" wipe can occur when direct sunlight shoots straight down the barrel of the sensor. It is rare, but when the conditions and angle are right, the single wipe may occur.

Has anyone else had this happen ?

Doesn't have to do with age, just part of the current technology. I get random wipes across three different vehicles with auto wipers.

Same thing with cars that have auto braking and adaptive cruise control, sun alone can cause false alerts or for the system to shut off. The Jeep is my 5th vehicle with adaptive cruise control and so far it is by far the best for avoiding false readings.

Yes. Keeping the windscreen meticulously clean seems to help... I've never experienced it when the sensor area is spotless.

Cheers,
Steve

The screen was very clean but the commonality was that the sensor facing directly into the full sunlight. Perpendicular to the sensor. Never happened during the first year.
