55w H11 HID for fog lamps..??

Is it safe to swap the stock 55w fog lamp with 55w HID...? I saw a lot of people have done with 35w and leds ... just wondering about the 55w HID bulb's heat and melting the housing.... Looking for your valuable input...

Thanks in advance

Check with XenonDepot. All I've done is the back up lamps but they are a good place to deal with and very knowledgeable.

Don't do HIDs in the fogs. I've made the mistake of doing it and it just melts the socket. Go LED bulbs or jw speaker led lights.

OP has a 2014.... Different fog lights than the 2011-13 models.

With that said, considering 'normal' HID is only 35 watt, 55 watt would be serious over-kill for fog lights.

PSX24W LED Fog Light Kit | PSX24W LED Foglight Upgrade

Less expansive than the JW Speaker fog lights, but still MUCH better than the OEM 'backup light' bulbs in there.

I have the JW's as well but as Governor said. The op has a 2014. JW's aren't an option.

Do you have any info and pictured installed?
I just hate the fogs on my Jeep. I tried some ebay leds, which were dim, and I later took out. Living in Canada our choices are limited for shipping.
