Re: Aftermarket HID info and pictures

I'm using 4300k HID on the motorcycle, the LED's below are 6000k.
4300K looks great to me, not typical HID color but pretty natural.

The LED's are on a dimmer with Hi-beam override and incredible bright

That is the natural HID color. It just doesn't look natural to you because it's not behind a projector lens that gives it that look of being a higher "K" than it really is.

Those look great, enjoy!

How long did it take to wire up your bike and did you need a relay?

BMW uses Can-Bus on the bikes but no relay/harness is required and this really made things easy, however it depends on the ballast specification, I went through a couple and the 3rd now works 100% :-)

Re: Aftermarket HID info and pictures

Some are reversing polarity on their Xenon Depot canbus adapter, some aren't. Is it a necessatity to switch polarity?

Sorry to revive an old thread, but on my can bus adapter from xenon depot the polarity was already correct to line up with the bulb harness plug in. The diagram they include with the kit shows the positive is on the bottom and the negative is on the top if you are looking at your harness laid flat. The adapter I received has the positive on the top and negative on the bottom(that's the way you want it) marked by a + and - on the plug. Although I have yet to install it because my battery and ground ring connectors are a smaller gauge than what is needed, so I'm still trying to figure that out. I'll let you guys know about the can bus polarity though once I get them installed.

Here is what I'm talking about

Re: Aftermarket HID info and pictures

Nice work with the HID. I have a couple of months with a 2012 Laredo and want to install HID's but it seems very difficult to achieve. Can you describe what you had to do to install the kit? Did you remove anything? Will appreciate any advice...
