Re: Aftermarket HID info and pictures

I've installed xenondepot hid without any problems, didn't have to reverse any polarity either. I just installed them as it came from the company. I didn't want my ballast visible so I took off the lower bumper and installed the ballast and the relay on the front reinforcment. Just like one of the member who did fog light hid conversion.

I did this to my F150, thought I had great cut-off as well until I kept getting flashed by people in town. I had Semi's on divided highways that would flash me.

Very bright, loved them, but would not do it in the stock non-projector housings again. Just not fair to the others on the road.
Hehe I've always wondered what the correct terminology is for this. Halogens are by definition HID's (high intensity disgarge) bulbs. You meant he's going from HID's to xenon right? But i guess everyone associates HID's with Xenon's. Just wondering is all.

Re: Aftermarket HID info and pictures

Just picked up a 2015 JGC and will be doing an HID kit. I know the OP is running a 35w kit. Are most of you also running 35w or 55w kits?

Re: Aftermarket HID info and pictures

I know it's been a long while on this thread but does anyone have a link to an hid install guide for a 2011-2013 grand Cherokee Laredo? I just bought the extreme hid h11 bulbs from XD and can't find an install guide. Thanks for the help!

You should use the relay harness with Capacitor Links instead. This helps to regulate the pulse coming from the factory system. I've got a 2014 WK2 Limited and had to do a ton of research to keep what's happening to you, from happening to me. Ironically, I sat with a tech at TRS and we used (2) Capacitor Links (back to back). I know, it sounds crazy and the guys over at XD are going to try to sell you their system, with essentially the same components (1 less part), but mine works flawlessly. All the lights fire when needed, the auto-on feature works perfectly and both lights turn off at the same time (similar issue that was known to happen on the 2014).
