I just wish they would stay folded in when driving along narrow tracks. ;-)

In the other hand, it is a great convenience that the mirror folding button is powered as soon as you unlock, prior to even starting. Also after shutting off engine and opening doors.

It'd be awesome to have that kind of access- is it available for download somewhere?

this post makes think about how good I had it with a $500 GAP IIDtool for my LR3. Could pretty much program, update, monitor, or change any feature and computer on the entire vehicle from my phone (via BT). Being such a limited market compared to the GC's I cannot believe something similar is not available.

So...Mr. techvudu:
How's about you do the research and try to find out if anyone has figured out how to hack and modify the uConnect features? I'm sure loads of us would love that. Please and thanks for anything you can find out.

I'm not sure how mentioning that another vehicle you've owned has an aftermarket programmer for the electronic subsystems even partly implies that you're nominating as the forum research biatch. So "how's about" you do it.

I think the we in the colonies on this side of the world have never known our proper place or shown proper respect. That is why I would make such a ridiculous suggestion. I think it must be something to do with the water drains north or south of the equator. If I overstepped, please express my sincerest apologies. LOL

Re: Any ideas for making mirrors fold when doors are locked?

Ok so I'm new here but have been looking into the JGC as my next vehicle and was reading the 2016 JGC owners manual pg 318 in the PDF version and found this about the which doors unlock on button push or handle grab....

Remote Door Unlock
When “Remote Door Unlock” is selected, you may choose from “Driver” or “All.” Select “All” to have all
doors unlock with the first push of the Key Fob. Select “Driver” to have the only the driver door open with the first push of the key fob.

NOTE: Passive Entry — If Equipped. If “All” is selected, all doors will unlock no matter which Passive Entry door handle is grasped. If “Driver” is selected, only the driver’s door will unlock when the driver’s door is grasped.

Passive Entry
This feature allows you to lock and unlock the vehicle’s door(s) without having to press the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter lock or unlock buttons. To make your selection, press the “Passive Entry” button on the touchscreen and select from “On” or “Off. Press the back arrow button on the touchscreen to return to the previous menu.

Re: Any ideas for making mirrors fold when doors are locked?

My buddies Merc ML auto folds the mirrors at engine off and back out at engine start. He can disable it for if need be. Would be nice to have the same feature.

But then I also would like to see the auto door lock once it loses contact with the fob (as you walk away).

Is there any electronics or programming gurus around that have tried to achieve this? or if not...is there anybody who would want to look at some wiring diagrams together to try to figure out a way to do this?
Trade in your Jeep for a 2016 Lincoln MKX?

Sorry, just couldn't resist.

The wife just picked up a new MKX today and when you lock the car the mirrors fold in.

Re: Any ideas for making mirrors fold when doors are locked?

On a follow-up note about the 2016 MKX...

So far I've only found 3 forums for MKX owners and they are all a joke.

No technical discussions! Only vapid crap about features and options.

Even the forums including old MKX models is pretty lame.

Be VERY glad we have such great forums for our GCs!
