Any interest in an auto-off ECO module?

I am working on a small circuit that will automatically turn off the ECO button, when the GC is started. I made a similar circuit for my Mini Cooper S, which turned on the Sport button, when the Mini was started.

The circuit will momentarily send a ground pulse to the ECO button, which essentially is the same as manually pushing the button. If there is any interest, I'll make a few more while I'm at it.

Yes. I have a similar box that turns on racing modes on my GTR automatically and I love it.

i would be more interested on the ability to tun eco mode on or off from the steering wheel or the mid console shifter, pretty smart on chryslers behalf to put the stupid button on the location it is at now.

Or why not just have the button save the last setting?

Tarponbeach,
Do you have any more info like how and where the module you made is installed? I would be interested in something like that.
Thanks

The module is the easy part. It is a one shot normally open relay, controlled by a 555 integrated circuit that fires the relay momentarily when the Jeep is started. The problem is the actual ECO switch. It is on a circuit board that is connected to the CAN bus, so there is no easy way to access the actual contacts that the switch closes when pressed. I'm still researching to see if there is an easy way to access the switch, but I'm not optimistic.

Ok, it sounds like you know what you're doing, keep us informed. I'm getting in the habit of hitting the button in between seatbelt buckle and hand on gearshift. I really dislike that electronic shifter BTW. I thought I would get more accurate with it, but after six months, I'm still over/undershooting what I want sometimes.

Not so sure about that.

If I'm able to get to those contacts, I'll let everyone know.
