Any tips on how to install Altitude's rear brow?

I removed the rear indoor panel partially to install my reverse LED's but was wondering if anybody knows or has any tips on how to install the Altitude's rear brow. I have an idea because I did this on the Commander back in the day when chrome was still "in". Any tips will be appreciated.

Thanks...

2 (maybe) 3 bolts, 10 mm socket. Unscrew them from the inside, voila!

Re: Any tips on how to install Altitude's rear brow?

Same as the commander then. What about removing the whole interior panel? That's really the part that scares me. I know you have to pull from the bottom releasing the clips but I think there is another part a little more tricky by the rear wiper area???

Re: Any tips on how to install Altitude's rear brow?

I only undid the bottom half of it. Kept the wiper area intact along with the upper weather stripping. Had to undo two plugs for the wires to the lights to get enough room to get in there. I'm searching for the thread with all of the tips and how-to's and for the mopar diagram for ya.

Re: Any tips on how to install Altitude's rear brow?

Dabitz,

Here's the thread: http://jeepgarage.org/showthread.php...ight=rear+brow

Some guys just pried the outer edge of the chrome piece off from the rear and replaced it with the black (or brilliant black) Altitude version without even having to remove the interior trim at all. Just read through that thread and it's all in there.

pg. 56 or just click 'Liftgate trim panel, inside' of this link: http://www.wk2jeeps.com/interior/201...moval_001E.pdf is how to remove the interior liftgate trim.

Re: Any tips on how to install Altitude's rear brow?

Got the part today. I'm planning to install in one piece but shouldn't the lock button on the new one "click" when you press it? It seems stuck.... and there is a loose switch http://db.tt/R2l2xjy1

Re: Any tips on how to install Altitude's rear brow?

I just installed the black brow on my 13 SRT....took 5 minutes. Just grabbed the chrome piece from the bottom and it popped right off. Same with the black brow. I then added new 3m tape to the black brow and pushed it on. Super easy....no reason to remove the inside hatch cover and unbolt the brow

Mine was the same. There was a plastic dummy switch behind it. Just a matter of removing two screws, pulling out that plastic block and putting the loose switch in there.

But as others have said, it's a lot easier just to separate the painted bit by pulling it off, replacing the tape, and swapping it over for the chrome piece. I've pulled mine apart, just waiting for the bloody car to arrive now, and hope that the gloss black brow looks okay with brilliant black car (won't sacrifice customer service for the sake of $25 again).

I take it you didn't get it from justforjeeps?

Re: Any tips on how to install Altitude's rear brow?

Mine was from justforjeeps and it was like that. However, I did it by detaching the front face, and all I had to do was replace the chrome button for the black one. But if I had done the whole piece it would've been a problem. It was really easy as everybody said. Another mod done thanks to you guys.
