Awesome compressor for my Jeep

I always keep a compressor in the car.

I've had this old Campell forever and was slow as Molasses.
I think they still make it.

But I wanted the fastest beefiest one I could find and fit in wheel well storage bin. And could plug into cigarette lighter adapter.

After a lot of googling I found the Viair 85P. It pulls 15 amps.

It is VERY nice.

The 88P is often referenced as the best but Pulls 20 amps and only comes with battery clips. I think it would fit in storage bin too, because this 85P fits with the case with room to spare. Some people switched it to cigarette lighter adapter. Because these pumps don't pull there max amps unless they are pumping against their max load capacity.

Oh The Jeep GC cigarette lighters have a 20 amp fuse.

Re: Awesome compressor for my Jeep

The Viair stuff is good, I ran a 400P in my TJ for years then a buddy bought it off me to use in his Ram 1500 and a backup for his LJ. Its still going strong after a lot of use filling up to 37s since 2004.....good choice.

Re: Awesome compressor for my Jeep

Frankly, I wish they had a built in compressor option with a hookup where they put the useless flashlight. I'd actually pay for that.

I also wish they'd put the jack stuff under the vehicle ahead of the rear bump in that dead space, then place a round, tray in the center of the spare tire for storage.

Hmm, interesting find. I have been contemplating installing one as well just to reduce the P.I.T.A. factor of getting to my air compressor in the garage

Re: Awesome compressor for my Jeep

I have the Vlair 88P with a couple of hose extensions. I keep a plug kit also just in case I'm able to find the hole and plug it and air it up rather than changing the spare. I'm getting too old for the heavy stuff.

Re: Awesome compressor for my Jeep

I have the Vlair 88P and love it. It is very well made and a huge upgrade over the standard tire store compressors. I keep it under the passenger seat in the rear.
